Hello, With the upcoming decommissioning of WASM smart contracts on Astar Network and Shiden Network, I regret to announce that the Lucky dApp will also be sunset. After considering the different options, I have decided not to migrate Lucky to Astar EVM for several reasons: 1. **The future of Lucky within the dApp Staking ecosystem** 2. **The amount of work required for the migration** 3. **Infrastructure and maintenance costs** For all of these reasons, Lucky will be sunset when the WASM smart contracts are decommissioned on Astar Network. ### What does this mean for users? From a user perspective, the recommended action is simply to choose another dApp directly from the dApp Staking section of Astar Portal. There are currently no user funds held by Lucky’s smart contracts, so there is no risk of users losing their tokens as a result of the shutdown. ### Looking back Lucky started as an opportunity for me to learn about smart contracts, ink!, Rust, and eventually discover the wider Web3 ecosystem. It has been a really valuable experience, and I am grateful for everything I have learned along the way. This is not really an end, but rather the natural next step of the journey. The experience gained from building Lucky will certainly be useful for whatever comes next. Thank you to everyone who used Lucky, supported the project, provided feedback, or simply followed its journey. It has been a pleasure building on Astar. ---

Unfortunately, I suppose this is unavoidable. WASM smart contracts were once a promising area, but unfortunately, their adoption has been extremely limited compared to EVM. And now that Polkadot itself has abandoned WASM smart contracts, maintaining that technology stack on Astar would involve significant costs and risks. As we saw with the recent major incident involving Cosmos EVM, we cannot continue using a system when upstream maintenance has stalled. It is unfortunate, but given the current situation, I believe this proposal is reasonable. Thank you for all your hard work. ---

Hi @GuiGou, Although I understand the decision, it is always difficult to see projects that have shaped our ecosystem leave. Lucky and Lotto were among the very few ink! dApps that actually shipped and ran in production on Astar, contracts, worker, indexer and UI, built and maintained by one person. They were also genuinely fun, which is rarer than it should be. It was great working and collaborating with you on both. You put it well, this is a step in the journey rather than an end.
