I completely agree with you and I think the same, it is not a model that is difficult to devise and even less so with the experience they have gained in managing the peers program.

For some reason, the ‘Mobile Node’ event excites me a lot and I am curious about two things. I would appreciate your help as I do not have enough technical knowledge.
1-) Is there any harm to the phone in the long run? Or do we aim to actively use unused phones with these nodes?

2-) Have you ever thought of opening a proposal to encourage node installation and rewarding people who install nodes? In this way, users can earn a reward while supporting decentralisation.

@MrKarahanli-Emre ,
Thank you for comments.

> 1-)

What kind of harm do you mean by the harm of mobile phones? Are you referring to physical harm or environmental harm? In any case, I don’t think either is a problem at this point.

On the other hand, mobile phones are used by many people worldwide, and new ones are released in short intervals. The increase in old electronic devices itself poses a challenge for disposal. However, if they can be reused, it would be better for the environment.

> 2-)

This question has already been proposed and discussed in this thread. Currently, I am finalizing a draft.

The key point is to devise measures that enhance contributions and engagement in the ecosystem, while skillfully utilizing the treasury without involving tokenomics.

just out of curiosity. Have you ever thought about the future evolution of creating ready-made devices that a user just needs to buy with his ASTR, arrive home, and just have to connect it and that’s it, the node is ready. I know this is still too early but mine is just a possible idea for the future. You could create a ready-to-use hardware that just needs to be connected to the power, the node autoinstall and that’s it. You can check the performance on the phone.

Thank you for the interesting suggestion.

In fact, I believe this could be implemented right away. In the enterprise world, this is known as an ‘appliance product.’
And in that case, it doesn’t need to be a smartphone.
For example, if I pre-configure a RasPi5 to run an archive node and ship it to the user, it would be ready to use immediately. As a pre-configuration, I could gather information about the user’s WiFi environment and set it up. If they are connected via a broadband router, this step isn’t even necessary because the network settings at the user’s home will be automatically configured by DHCP.
This way, the user only needs to plug it in at home to contribute to the ecosystem.

This appliance concept could be realized through collaboration with companies that sell small computers like RasPi.
However, this is a business matter and not community-driven, so it might be better to discuss it elsewhere.

Thank you.

Wow, this would really be a very cool and super easy thing for any user because they would just have to connect the power cable and a few simple steps and start contributing to the Astar Network. Beautiful! Please take it into consideration hahaha, I will be the first to buy an Astar Node Device hahahha

Very Interesting Idea, Indeed the less friction there is, the better.

Curious about how it’ll be carried out.

Thanks for your concern, @Juminstock !

This month, I’ll be meeting with mobile app developers to discuss further. I’m not sure how it will turn out, but I want to move forward with some sort of Proof of Concept (PoC) first.

Awesome, @tksarah! I’m very interested to know if the idea can actually be created. I’d love to see a service like [NiceHash](https://www.nicehash.com/) but focused on managing Astar nodes from our phones.

I wondered if running Node would damage your phone’s processor, battery or any other hardware.
But
As far as I understand, it is not a problem.

Thank you for your comment.

I believe there are potential challenges related to devices and hardware. As it is a mobile device, there will be applications and hardware that were not originally anticipated to operate on it.
Therefore, it is valuable to conduct a PoC (Proof of Concept) to see how much the community members can address these challenges, or if it is impossible, where the limitations lie.

We are continuing with the design.

Hi community,
As for the progress on this topic, we have found an engineer who can develop the UI for the Mobile Application.

Now, we need to cross-build the source to create a binary that runs on Android and check its feasibility. I plan to try this, but I am still seeking advice from someone knowledgeable in this area.

Thanks,

Hello, incredible initiative, really the idea of a node on the mobile is incredible, a portable node unlocks many possibilities for decentralization, I hope you get the solution because from the technical point of view is a very ambitious project.

My best wishes for success.
