We deployed the rewards/refund mechanism on Mainnet and deposited 50% of the rewards we received in May in the contract. I am sure that they will do so. We will replenish the funds from our end at the end of June, unless there is a rush to bridge. In that case, we will deposit 50% of the June dApp staking rewards we received in June into the wallet even before the end of the month. The DAO will need to provide the remaining funds if necessary. Refunds are configured manually at this point. The available funds will be used for transactions that happened up to June 17th. The next batch will happen at the end of June, provided that people have bridged. We are working on a contract that will deduct the $5 fee from the dApp staking funds and the DAO funds, so the user will not have to pay anything. This is not ready yet. We will deploy this later on. We are working on a way where there are ASTR funds in a contract, and when someone wants to bridge, the funds get deducted fro that contract and deposited into the bridge’s contract. The funds in the contracts will be supplied by 50% of the staking rewards that NFT Bridges receives anf the rest by the Astar Degens DAO. In that scenario, the holder does not need to send any ASTR at all. But this is taking time to develop and test and we wanted to give users their money back sooner than later. Thanks @Matt As I mentioned in my last reply, we are working on a mechanism that would allow the users to bridge without using any of their ASTR tokens. When it is ready, we will notify the community in this forum and on other channels. Meanwhile, if you have already bridged, please claim your refund. It’s essential that Astar Degens community members understand that the refund mechanism is in place and that they will receive their bridging fee back. Thank you Ilan ---

It is related to the Astar Degens Bridging initiative and the dApp staking program, @tksarah We created a refund mechanism that allows users who bridged to claim their Bridging fees back. We are paying these fees by allocating 50% of our dApp staking fees to the refund smart contract. As we promised to do in our application to the dApp staking program. The Astar Degens DAO will allocate tokens for the refund when the staking rewards run out. Hi, everyone. We deployed the Mainnet automatic refund/payment for Astar Degens NFT transfers from Astar to Soneium. We are testing the contracts and will notify you when we are ready. What needs to happen now? We will calculate the number of users that bridged and paid for the bridging services and will send the $5 payment in ASTR to the existing contract address. The users will need to log in to the bridge, click the “Rewards” button on the left, and claim their bridging fee back. We will deposit the 50% staking fee balance we received from the dApp staking into the refund smart contract address, to be used for the bridging fees for the remaining ASTAR users. We will notify the Astar Degens, and the forum when it is done. Users who have not bridged yet will be able to bridge without having to pay the $5 bridging service fee. They will only pay the CCIP gas fee, which is typically between 1 and 5 cents. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. Ilan ---

We have deposited 24339 ASTR from last month’s staking rewards in the refund contract for the Astar Degens. We did it at the beginning of August; I forgot to report on that. My apologies. At this point, bridging your Astar Degens is free. The Astar Degens DAO is covering the costs. We are seeing a very low rate of transfer. We suggest to the Degens to Bridge as long as the DApp staking grant is in place and the bridging is basically free. To remind you of the process, the user bridges the NFT and pays the $5 fee in ASTR. The user then logs into the bridge and clicks the “Rewards” button. They can see the rewards designated to their wallet and claim them. The bridge deposits the $5 bridging fee back to the user’s wallet. The result of these actions is that the bridging fees are now $0. The user only pays the CCIP gas fees. At this point, they are minuscule.
