Should I Continue as an Astar Ambassador?

Hello, Astar community.

Today, I want to have an honest conversation with all of you.

Since joining the Web3 ecosystem, I’ve always tried to be responsible and committed to every project I’ve been part of. I discovered Astar Network at the end of 2023, and many of you know that I spent all of 2024 working toward becoming an Astar Ambassador. Earlier this year, in 2026, I was honored to finally achieve that goal.

Then… I disappeared.

Many of you may have wondered what happened.

The answer is my health.

I was born with sickle cell disease, a lifelong condition that comes with periods of stability and periods of severe health crises. When those crises happen, I don’t just step away from Astar—I step away from everything. My work, my social media, my personal projects… everything has to stop while I recover.

Last month was especially difficult. I spent every week going back and forth to the hospital, and at one point I even required an emergency blood transfusion. Recovering became my only priority, and unfortunately that meant stepping away from my responsibilities as an Ambassador.

Because of this, I’ve always tried to build a career that adapts to my reality. I mainly work remotely, I organize my schedule carefully, and I’ve learned that my pace isn’t always the same as everyone else’s. That has never meant I care less or contribute less—it simply means I have to work differently.

Looking back, I realize my biggest mistake wasn’t my illness—it was my communication.

I didn’t explain what was happening, and I didn’t let the community or the team know why I had become inactive. For that, I sincerely apologize.

Thankfully, I’m now recovering and slowly returning to Web3.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been asking myself whether it’s fair to continue calling myself an Astar Ambassador after being inactive for several months. At one point, I was ready to step down because I felt it was the most responsible thing to do.

But before making that decision, I wanted to ask the people who have supported me throughout this journey.

Do you believe I should continue as an Astar Ambassador now that I’m returning, or do you think it’s more appropriate for me to step down and continue supporting Astar simply as a community member and content creator?

Whatever the answer is, one thing won’t change:

I genuinely believe in Astar Network, its technology, and its vision. My commitment to this ecosystem didn’t begin with the Ambassador title, and it won’t end because of it.

I value transparency, responsibility, and this community’s trust. That’s why I wanted to share my situation honestly and hear your thoughts before making a final decision.

Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for being part of this journey with me.

I look forward to reading your opinions.

Hi,

I’m really sorry about your situation. Health is far too important not to come first in our lives. Secondly, there’s the passion with which, despite everything, we try to live our lives — and I see a great deal of it in you. The decision is yours alone. I don’t believe that an illness, even a severely disabling one, could extinguish that fire of passion inside you. As far as I’m concerned, you shouldn’t just “be able to” keep nurturing it — you should keep nurturing it. Every community needs people like you: passionate and devoted to the cause.

Hey,
Hope you’re always doing great and staying just as driven.

Challenges are always gonna be part of life, they’re inseparable from it and honestly, without them, life wouldn’t mean much at all.
Thanks for sharing your story with us; I really appreciate it and wish you nothing but the best.

It’s entirely up to you to decide whether this chapter is adding extra pressure or stress, and whether it’s worth continuing or not.

Whatever you choose, I hope you crush it and find true success in your path.

I’m really sorry that this happened, but I’m glad to hear that you’re doing better and have recovered.

Life has its ups and downs, and what really matters is how we come out of those situations and move forward.

I hope you continue your journey with Astar with enthusiasm, but ultimately, the decision is yours to make. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best. Take care!

Thank you for having the courage to share such a painful experience.
In my view, if your love for Astar hasn’t changed, then I’m grateful that you’re considering continuing your involvement.

However, your activities may need to be balanced with your health and well‑being.
And that’s not something limited to ambassador work — it applies to life in general.

So this might be a good moment to reflect on whether the Astar ambassador role should remain a part of your life going forward.

If there are other things you need to prioritize, that is also part of life.

good luck and never stop fighting

Obviously, your health must come first (I learned this the hard way, unfortunately). You’re a wonderful person with a remarkable determination. I personally hope you can continue (if it makes you feel good and isn’t a hindrance to your health). Just writing this and sharing it openly doesn’t make it easy. The choice is yours alone; go ahead and do what makes you feel good! A huge hug, and I wish you the best the world can give you :sparkling_heart:
