Astar Portal: Bugs, Feedback, and Feature Requests from the Community

:clipboard: Help shape what comes next on the Astar Portal

Hello Astar Collective! :astr:

The Portal has changed a lot over the past weeks, and dApp Staking with it. A few things are now different in practice:

  • EVM and Native accounts are managed in a single interface, instead of requiring separate tools
  • Assets across both environments are viewable and movable from one place
  • The staking page was redesigned so that staking, project discovery, and ecosystem activity sit within a single flow
  • dApp Staking now runs on a single yearly cycle, with 16 reward-eligible projects across two tiers

Much of this is new enough that the surface area for improvement is still wide open. We want to hear from the people actually using it.

A dedicated feedback form is now open to every member of the Astar Collective:
:link: Astar Portal | Issues & Feedback Reports

The form covers three types of report. Each is useful right now:

  • :bug: Bug reports: Anything slow, unclear, or broken. Include what you did, what happened, and what you expected instead. These go straight to the engineering team.
  • :desktop_computer: UX feedback: Where did the revamp meet your expectations, and where did it not? The wallet connection flow, moving between EVM and Native views, the staking page layout: your usage is the real test of the UI/UX decisions we made.
  • :plus: Feature requests: What is missing for how you actually use the Portal, whether you are staking, tracking ASTR, participating in governance, or navigating the ecosystem.

The form also asks for your network, browser and device, and location, which helps us reproduce bugs and see where feedback is coming from. It takes a couple of minutes.

How it moves through the team: bug reports reach the people building the fix. Feature requests feed into the next priority review. We will come back to this thread with a summary of what we heard and what is being worked on.

To get the conversation started here:

  • If you could change one thing about the new Portal tomorrow, what would it be?
  • How is the unified EVM and Native experience working for you? Is anything still unclear about which account does what?
  • For stakers, how is the single yearly cycle and redesigned staking page working in practice?
  • What is one thing you expected to find in the Portal but could not?

The Portal is the primary way to interact with staking, governance, and the broader ecosystem. What it looks like next depends on what you tell us. :dizzy:

Hello and good day to everyone,

One of the users suggested this idea in Discord: it would be excellent if the Astar Network portal also included a swap section. This would allow users to swap their tokens directly on Astar Network within the portal itself, without needing to rely on third-party dApps or external websites, and with full confidence and security

I believe this is an interesting and worthwhile idea that deserves consideration

Even if building a native swap feature is deemed unnecessary or not the most professional approach, we could still implement a swap section within the portal by integrating and managing other dApps, such as Comet Swap

Thank you for your attention

One of the users on Discord just reported that he is trying to stake using native wallet, but he get stuck during the process and the staking doesn’t complete (confirmation taking ages)

I advised him to open a ticket, but it might be worth it for the team to look into this issue

Hello @Khonsa, thanks for your proactivity!

For your suggestion (feature request), please use the form above. This will serve as the main point for collecting feedback, bug reports, and more related to the Astar Portal.

There’s no need to post it here, this will save you some time.

As I mentioned, opening a ticket on Discord is the most effective way to provide timely support to the user.

Thanks a lot for your contributions! :raising_hands:
