I would like to propose to the Astar Foudation to share the UCG Program’s metrics since its launch. It can be a powerful way to highlight its success and engagement for the Astar community.
In the name of transparency within the UCG Program, it is crucial for the community to have access to data regarding the projects that received Grants and successfully deployed on Astar. This will allow for a thorough analysis of each dApp’s outputs and overall impact.
Following this, a detailed analysis of each dApp’s outputs can be conducted by The Council or Agents to evaluate if they still are contributing to the Ecosystem.
1. Share the Key Metrics
Select the data points that best represent the program’s impact.
Supported Projects: Number of projects or initiatives funded.
Tokens or Incentives Distributed: Total rewards provided.
dApps deployed on Astar dApp staking: Total dApps deployed
2. Timeframes
Break down the data by timeframes (monthly, quarterly, yearly) to showcase growth trends.

Beyond numbers, it could highlight how the UCG program has positively/ negatively impacted dApps and the broader community.
It is essential to exercise responsibility with treasury resources and the value of the ASTR token. Even if it is a temporary Grant, part of the inflation is directed to the project through dApp staking rewards. Therefore, more stringent due diligence must be conducted.
The total number of dApps deployed in dApp Staking can be found from on-chain data using the Polkadot.js dashboard, or more conveniently on the Astar portal.
Currently, 95 projects are listed in dApp Staking.
As for the total rewards earned by projects, this is subjective as other stakers may have staked on these dApps during the UCG period, thus increasing the rewards earned by UCG participants. However, you can use subscan and search for the rewards beneficiary address (or dApp owner) of each project to calculate how much they earned during the UCG period. All these addresses can be found in the spreadsheet shared above or on the forum in the respective UCG applications.
However, I don’t understand the context of this discussion, as all this information is already public, on the forum or can be found onchain, therefore the foundation is not keeping any UCG-related information secret.
This is a great proposal that speaks much of transparency and accountability on the UCG Program. The sharing of key metrics and detailed analyses of funded projects will not only showcase the impact of the program but also build trust in the Astar community.
In addition, tracking and evaluation of the performance of dApps ensure that treasury resources are well utilized to support projects that add to the long-term growth of the ecosystem. This initiative perfectly aligns with the principles of responsible resource management and community engagement.
Hi @pitcoin777 is the goal of this discussion see the effectiveness of the program?
From G’s comment, everything is public and onchain. You, or anyone from the community, can do a summary and have a graph of metrics you mentioned here. It can be a good contribution too from the agents, especially if you can also gather insights from the participating dApps.
Yes, gathering the data in one place and understanding the metrics and output results delivered by each dApp is essential. Dispersed data in forums and hashes doesn’t work for the community.
Thank you for sharing, @Gaius_sama G. I’ll conduct an in-depth study to better understand the situation of the program, and I’m glad to have resources for the research. Perhaps other agents, community members, and even the council might want to dive deep into the data as well. Thank you!
