Campaign duration
** As-is: Feb 20th, 2025 - May 1st, 2025 (70 days)
** To-be: Feb 20th, 2025 - May 30th, 2025 (100 days)
In this case, we can extend the campaign duration and give enough time to users to claim their reward and participate in the next Astar Dapp Staking cycle.
ACS Allocation on SoneFi’s Soneium Meme Spark Contest
** As-is: 10m (1%)
** To-be: 5m ACS (0.5%)
While I believe meme culture is one of the most crucial aspects of Web3, the DAO’s concern is valid. By decreasing the allocation, we can explore the potential of the meme coin while mitigating its negative impact.
And thank you again for sharing the DAO’s thoughts.
I think the plan is defined and beyond the memes is the empowerment of the $ASTR token, many projects are fighting for it, each one in their own area.
No project or ecosystem grows without “Incentives”, the myth of organic growth is broken once you make a good marketing campaign and a dynamic based on “incentives”, SoneFi is showing a proposal based on the logic of the current market, the success will depend on the subsequent management of the platform, I am sure they will do well, they have a robust product and the head well placed, because they are attacking the growing market need in this case the great demand for memes.
On the other hand, they want to slow down the speed of the $ASTR token by blocking the $ASTR used in the bounding curve, this is unique and an incredible value proposition unheard of in Astar and Soneium.
Ecosystems remain and grow with incentives and utility, this proposal has both conditions.
I agree with the budget reduction for the memecoin contest – encouraging meme culture is essential, but there are more downsides than upsides in this regard for the Astar holders. Perhaps splitting the budget into two parts could be another alternative. If the first part of the meme contest delivers satisfactory results, the second part of the budget could be released.
I think the proposal regarding the timeframe and budgets of the ACS campaign is very valid. 100 days seems more appealing to me.
What will be the next steps?
How will the budgets be allocated to the teams?
How will the teams distribute and run their campaigns?
Will the current liquidity be considered, or only new liquidity?
I have the same doubts as my colleague, what will be the next steps? Surely the team is preparing posts and official announcements about when and how the campaign will start.
For my part I am very excited to participate in the dynamics that will be proposed .
Mee too…100 Days for me is better timeframe and give more time to take all the advantages from a possible dedicated marketing strategy to boost the ACS in all the communities outside Astar.
Good question. I think that all the liquidity counts to get points (old and new).
no, even if there is little difference between the two proposals, I believe that the first is more effective… it’s time to push on the accelerator, without hesitation… concentrate your efforts for a more limited period of 100 days, the community is getting depressed, it’s time to attack the market without further extending the days available… there are already many dapps involved, the value of the token has already dropped by around 2 million since the proposal came out, enough hesitation, it’s time to act and be courageous.
Although I for one already have a lot of liquidity within soneium, to maximize the strength of the campaign it would be useful to take ONLY the new liquidity into account.
I don’t think an additional on-chain vote is needed just because details have changed, since the on-chain vote is primarily for budget approval.
I’m working on website development and each team’s API integration while also preparing a blog article and other marketing content to support the campaign’s success.
Thank you for the great update regarding the detailed content of the proposal, this makes it extremely clear how the campaign is progressing with an update due to community feedback,
Great update, thank you! as the starting date is Feb. 20, did that mean that all of us need to send Astar to Soneium after Feb. 20, and the Astar asset before Feb. 20 will not be counted?
Simply transferring ASTR from Astar Network to Soneium won’t earn any ACS. Users need to use participating dApps to receive it. And yes, it only counts dApp usage after the campaign launch.
For the ASTR, do we consider the volumn or taking snapshot, for example, one user can supply ASTR on sake finance for 10 days, and then withdraw the ASTR, how to calculate the contribution in this case, maybe some more detailed explanation and rules would be helpful for the community before we start the campaign officially. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback. I’ll add an explanation of how ACS is accrued on the website.
Here’s a brief explanation.
For Astar Surge, ACS will be distributed to each participant on April 1.
For the Meme Contest, ACS will be distributed to SoneFi on day 1 and later allocated to Meme Contest participants.
For TVL-based allocation and discretionary allocation, ACS emissions are reflected daily at 01:00 AM UTC+0.
For TVL-based allocation, ACS will be automatically distributed directly to users. This will start accruing ACS from 00:00 AM UTC +0.
For discretionary allocation, ACS will first be distributed to projects, and each project will then distribute ACS to users according to its own rules.
I’m updating a multiplier for ASTR LST in the TVL-based allocation from 1.5x to 1.1x.
The reason behind this change is to strengthen ASTR as the main currency of Soneium.
If ASTR LST has too high a multiplier in the ACS campaign, people may choose to use ASTR LST instead of ASTR in the Soneium ecosystem, which could hinder ASTR adoption in Soneium.
We need to focus on ASTR, as many community members mentioned in this thread.
I would like to express my disagreement with this modification. LSTs serve as a significant catalyst for adoption, as they offer yield on their respective assets while maintaining liquidity. Each ASTR LST is backed by ASTR, and since fees on Soenium are paid in ETH, it seems counterproductive not to promote the most efficient form of ASTR: LST ASTR.
People are likely to be more inclined to fully engage with ACS if they understand that their purchased ASTR will generate APR while they hold or utilize them in DeFi.
Furthermore, I would appreciate it if decisions of this nature could be discussed collaboratively prior to implementation, rather than being made unilaterally without prior debate. After all, governance has been established on Astar specifically for this purpose. Thank you for taking this perspective into account.
