About applications aimed at increasing participation in Astar Forum

The amount of knowledge required depends on the type of NFT you want to create.

If you just want to issue NFTs, for example, you can easily create them using a platform that allows you to issue NFTs, such as Opena, or you can use a launch pad such as Sonova for Astar or Soneium (although this will create some business hurdles). ).

If you want to be more practical and create it with your own contract, you can create an NFT relatively easily using a tool like Hardhat for a typical EVM chain.

Importantly, NFT is a means, not an end. The same is true of technology in general. What you want to do with NFT is more important than what you can do with NFT.

However, it is difficult to think that way from the beginning. As you are asking here, it would be difficult to use NFT as a means to an end without first knowing what can be achieved by NFT.

NFTs and tokens are ultimately expressed as “on-chained rights”. In other words, anything that can be achieved through the exercise of rights can be done if you want to do it. The only question now is how far to go on-chain. Of course, the less the on-chain element, the more trust is required, and the less good the blockchain is.

What attracts the average user to NFT is “what rights do I get? If you own it, you may have the right to sell it, you may have the right to join some community, you may have the right to use the IP. There is also the right to satisfy the desire to own the simplest of things. Whatever it is, I think it will be important to give the user the rights they want.

Thank you for letting me know more about NFT.
I’m currently at the stage where I’m interested in NFTs, so I’d like to plan how to use them based on the “purpose” of encouraging large numbers of people to participate in the forum.

What I can imagine at the moment is

・Things that satisfy the desire to own

・Things that give you the right to speak

・Things that give you the right to vote

etc.

I think that if we can link that NFT to a personal account, we can expect a responsible discussion.

I’m an amateur at creating NFTs, so I’d like to try my hand at it while learning.
I think it will take some time for the plan to become concrete, but this is also something I’m looking forward to.

I have benefited from great free and open source software such as JW_CAD and Linux.

i respect that idea.

I can’t expect big results like JW_CAD from what I’m doing, but with this NFT, I want to create a project for the masses rather than pursuing profit.

However, I lack the knowledge and skills.
I would like to deepen my understanding of NFT and research how it can be useful.

The purpose is for many people to participate in the Astar Forum, so I think there are other ways to do so without using NFT.

I think it would be great if we could actively cooperate with that goal.

that’s one of my pleasures.

Hi @airlmo san, Welcome to the Forum!

Thanks to your proposal, we’re having a very lively discussion. I just finished reading all the threads, and they were incredibly insightful. I’m looking forward to hearing your ideas!

As for what satisfies the desire for ownership, I think the art and PFP types would be the easiest since they are collection item type NFTs.

Those that grant the right to speak and vote are what are called “token gates. Token gates give you authority on the platform by holding certain tokens (including NFTs).
It is easy to understand the image of NFTs substituting for the role of roles in Discord.

Currently Forum does not have an on-chain element, so if you want to add this functionality, you will have to create a new platform or use an existing token-gate enabled platform.
For example, Guild.xyz can be integrated with Discord to automatically assign roles to accounts holding specific NFTs, allowing for specific permissions and adding icons next to their names (Icons need to be raised to the server level to be added).
Since creating your own platform is a hurdle, you may want to make good use of existing platforms.

I always appreciate your sound advice

When working in architecture, there is a saying that ``80% is the setup, 20% is the work.‘’

Good planning means that on-site work can be done in 20% of the amount of work.

I would like to think a little more deeply about the functions and plans for NFT.

Currently, the functions we would like to add to NFT are:

  1. Something that satisfies the desire for possession (art type)
  2. What gives the right to speak?
  3. What gives you the right to vote?
  4. Items that are easy to identify individually
  5. What allows the holder to know the notification
  6. Archives of individual statements can be checked.
  7. Roles evolve depending on the number of comments and votes
    etc.

First of all, I would like to make a list of things I want to do and then sort out what I can do and what I can’t do.

Certainly this is one of the big problems of participation in the forum, I add that the teams should present themselves, and then to grow their communities, they can present the work plan would be devised to have good feebdback on the forum, I know that this would depend on each team is just my perception, but ultimately the projects should make a good marketing that promotes your project and in turn to Astar and consequently invite your community and other communities to participate in your thread on the forum, IMO!

Your proposal is full of considerate suggestions in improving the engagement score, but it has some obstacles up ahead. The mobile voting feature, notification, and rewarding the users with the $ASTR token will need great design effort, orchestrating, and acceptance both from the core team and the community. This will be a challenge, especially in bridging the gaps among stakeholders for whom technical expertise may vary. The road to creating an intuitive app may be rather difficult since decentralized environments are not exactly that straightforward.

The idea is full of potential, but the implementation will be challenging, especially taking into consideration all possible technical and operational hurdles. You’re right to seek collaboration, since this is going to be the breaking point.

@Matt

Thank you for your reply.

I think the essence is to bridge the gap between the core team and general stakeholders.

That is very difficult.

Perhaps if the CEO says something useful and the price rises, it may be easy, although it is not essential.

However, what I am saying is not an eternal theme such as “eliminating discrimination from humanity”.

I don’t think it can be solved by simply implementing a solution, but there are some things you can’t know until you try.

For people like me who are not well informed, in order to understand WEB3, you need to go through the process of thinking about what you can do with web3.

I think it is very meaningful to explore how to use NFTs and blockchain.

I feel that the goal is not to create an app or move NFTs, but to get people interested in WEB3.

I think that the basic solution can be solved by actual communication.

It may seem like a roundabout way, but the shortest route to a solution may be for agents to communicate diligently.

I don’t think that alone will make it more meaningful to promote web3.

I am not working at the moment, but I will return to architecture soon. I would like to make progress little by little while working in architecture.
I need some more time to decide what I can and can’t do myself.
Once I can make that judgment, I’d like to be able to decide whether or not to outsource.

100% agree with Rudy in this matter.

Me too, unfortunately this is a really bad incentive model :frowning:

Don’t worry about incentive compensation

I made the suggestion but I felt there were some concerns, so hearing your opinions confirmed my concerns.

The focus of the discussion is to stimulate discussion and voting in the Astar Forum, and we hope that the community’s communication will be evaluated with the correct understanding.

I want to find a way to make that happen.

Hello, this is a very interesting point you made,

I think all the major point have been discussed here.

This said, it is true that improving the UI of the forum may bring satisfying results with low effort,

It is about lowering the friction after all.

It’s great that the environment improves with UI improvements.

Market conditions are always changing
We were recruiting people to participate in the forum until yesterday, but from tomorrow demand will suddenly increase and the number of participants will increase significantly, so it is easy to imagine that we will be forced to take unexpected measures.

But it’s hard to imagine when that will happen.

I think that wave is approaching, at least as of the time I am participating in the forum.

I imagine there will be a lot of friction as mass adoption progresses.

However, I believe that the act of deepening understanding and recognition is forever important.

I hope that this will be a forum where not only a few people but many people involved can come to a common understanding.

I would like to move forward while thinking about what is necessary for that purpose.

It would be great to see the forum discussions turned into a mobile app and receive notifications on every (or any) topic!
