AstarHood - Delegation

We are AstarHood, an anonymous voice within the ecosystem, here to bring the cause of fairness, transparency, and value creation in the Astar Network. Inspired by the legendary Robin Hood, my mission is to ensure that the dApp Staking system remains a powerful tool for innovation and growth—reserved for projects that bring genuine value to the ASTR token and our broader ecosystem. We will start with dApp Staking but will further build out our involvement.

Our Mission
The Astar Network has always been a beacon for supporting developers and their dApp projects. However, with the upcoming launch of Soneium and the strategic direction of the Astar Foundation, it is clear that now is the time to refine and elevate the dApp Staking system.

By initiating community-driven proposals to delist underperforming or inactive dApps, we can:

  • Showcase the true potential of dApp Staking to attract high-value projects.
  • Build a system that rewards those who bring value to the ASTR token and aligns with the long-term interests of ASTR token holders.
  • Set a higher standard for participation in the Astar ecosystem, ensuring that only dedicated builders thrive here.

Why Now?
Maarten, the Head of Astar Foundation, has already emphasized the need to cleanse the dApp Staking system. However, this transformation cannot be a top-down mandate. Instead, it must be organic and community-driven, reflecting the collective will of all stakeholders in our ecosystem.

As AstarHood, we will initiate discussions, present data-driven proposals, and advocate for fair evaluations of all dApps. Our goal is to ensure that this initiative remains transparent, inclusive, and focused on building a stronger, more resilient network.

How You Can Help
This mission isn’t just about delisting; it’s about reshaping the future of Astar. I invite all community members who care but don’t have the time to look at everything. Delegate your ASTR to us so you can help emphasize our voice for a better Astar ecosystem.

What you need to do?

  1. Go to Astar Governance Delegation page: Subsquare | Astar Delegation

  2. Search for AstarHood and delegate your ASTR to us if you support our mission.

Your funds are save and will stay in your wallet, AstarHood will have no control over your funds. It will only bring more voting power to our mission.

Let’s work together to create an ecosystem where only the best dApps—those that drive value for ASTR and empower our community—receive the spotlight they deserve.

Join me in this journey to restore balance, promote excellence, and ensure that Astar remains the leading asset for Astar & future Soneium.

Onward, for the good of Astar!

Hey, thanks!

While it would be ideal for everyone in the community to actively participate in governance, realistically speaking that is difficult. So you can participate in governance indirectly by delegating ASTR to someone you trust.

If you would like to participate in governance but find it difficult, we recommend that you delegate.
It is also recommended to have a certain number of delegatees for the sake of diversification, so we recommend to run for office like AstarHood.

Thank you for your post.
It might be ideal to delegate with the same spirit as yours. Your insights were very helpful.

AstarHood’s mission to bring more fairness and transparency to the Astar Network is a well-thought gesture. The effort of guaranteeing that only projects with high value are through by encouraging community-driven proposals for evaluating dApps is in the best interest of ASTR token holders.

Inclusiveness and transparency of this process will also go a long way in further solidifying this ecosystem and showing the real potential of dApp Staking. Best of luck in driving positive change for the network!

Great! I’m glad to see that the community is getting active and want to start being part of our on-chain governance.

It is of utmost importance to decide correctly to whom to delegate our tokens, that’s why we expect from AstarHood, transparent and well-intentioned decisions.

Much success in your journey through Astar governance!

Nice post, like the spirit.

This way of delegating ASTR might be what we need.

Thank you very much for the information. It’s very useful. Anyway, I would like to ask a little more.

I’m not sure if the team has previously had statistics about participation in voting for other projects that have been done before. This might help those who come to delegate to gain more confidence and make decisions more easily. =)

Thanks everyone for your support!
This means a lot for us.

Let’s make dApp Staking great again :muscle:

@AstarHood can you deep dive Neurolanche and @Leo ?

They claimed to give dApp stakers a free Neuro airdrop as a juicey incentive, have bot accounts on twitter promoting the hell out of it, but if you check their discord hardly anyone can claim and they put a time limit on claiming. It costs a huge fee on Optimism network to claim too.

Also a question on why they didn’t launch the token on Astar network? A Tier 2 dApp staking project using dApp staking funds to funnel liquidity out of Astar network is crazy.

Lots of complaints in their discord and people feeling scammed.

Some background info from other people who have raised the alarm previously.

Thanks for reaching out to me @FFR23
In the first phase I had in mind is to clean up projects that are part of dApp Staking that has abandoned their project or Astar. Because Neurolanche is still actively supporting Astar, they haven’t been on my radar at the moment.

If this is a request from community, I’m more than happy to start gathering the information and look for anything weird onchain happening. Adding it in my Xmas todo list :santa:

Thanks @AstarHood bro…honestly they’re a big “potential” threat as they are trying to become so embedded with the Astar Network that if they fail, it will seriously damage the Astar brand reputationally.

We already struggle to attract users.

I don’t blame @Leo and the guys at NL for trying what they are doing - the current setup allows for it so of course someone will fill the vacuum.
