As Astar’s Evolution Phase 1 takes shape and transitions to Soneium, I would like to provide some input as the Lead Agent for LATAM, having worked with Astar for almost two and a half years alongside the ambassadors. Here are some thoughts:
Standardized Slides Presentation: It would be beneficial to have a blended slide presentation for Astar/Soneium, similar to the one presented during the livestream that announced Soneium and Evolution Phase 1.
Brand Assets: We need access to assets like logos, videos, and guidelines on how to approach community engagement on platforms like Telegram, Youtube and X. This would help us align the Astar brand with Soneium and make it easier for our community to understand the transition.
Roles on Soneium Discord: Many ambassadors don’t have roles on the Soneium Discord, which makes it difficult for communities, such as the Brazilian, South Korean, and Turkish and other communities, to engage effectively. Assigning roles would enhance recognition and facilitate better communication across channels.
Telegram Rebrand to Astar/Soneium: As an ambassador, I would like to integrate the Soneium and Astar brands into a single Telegram group. This would make it easier for the community to have one place for official communication. Currently, I had to create a separate Telegram group for Soneium Brazil to manage the flow of information.
Official Twitter for Astar/Soneium Communities: Currently, there is some disconnect between Astar and Soneium information on Twitter. It would be more effective to have a list of official Twitter accounts for different communities to control misinformation, which is happening frequently with Soneium. Non-official pages are being created, making it harder to manage the flow of information.
I believe the current ambassadors and agents within the Astar ecosystem possess great knowledge and potential to help spread content about both Astar and Soneium through various channels, such as:
YouTube interviews, livestreams, and both long and short videos
Medium articles and blogs
Twitter threads
Telegram and Discord CRM
To support this, it would be helpful to have a Notion page or something similar where agents can access official brand assets (logos, presentations, videos), making it easier for us to create effective content without the risk of using unofficial materials.
Honestly so far as I understood not necessarily being an Astar Ambassador give us any sort of plus to be part of Soneium Ambassadors team.
It’s an interesting topic to discuss about because imo opinion they are two different projects made by Startale so I cannot see a direct connection between Astar and Soneium (also because Soneium rely on Ehereum and Optimism tech which is not Astar blockchain infra).
For this reason I don’t know if it’s a good idea to unify communities under the same X/TG/Youtube account. On the other side is less effective to attract interest to Astar because of many different channels to join for users (easier way to explain it , too many chats, too much chaos , it may be confusional for new joiners ) and Astar have a specific role into Soneium launch as a special partner.
I’m really curious about what the reat of You think about it and I will really appreciate any statement from the core team members
P.S. This opinion is related only to points 3,4 and 5. I totally agree with You @defiguy on the first two
Thank you for your suggestion. As someone who wants to share technical content and updates about Soneium, I agree with points 1 and 2. I believe that this can be somewhat resolved by the repository of GitHub release that is currently being prepared. Therefore, I am looking forward to it.
When the source code becomes open, I guess that the development of Soneium will be open, although Sony Block Solutions Labs Pte. Ltd (hereinafter referred to as SBS) will be the center of development (similar to the current Astar Network).
I think it is natural for Telegram and Discord to become the places for the Soneium community, but it would be desirable for their operation and design to be carried out gradually. It would be good for Soneium and SBS to follow the path that the Astar Network Foundation (and Stake Technologies) has taken. At this point, assigning a special role to the Astar Ecosystem Agent may cause conflicts, so I thought it would be better to form something like an Ambassador Program in a neutral way within the open community. If such a program is created, it would be nice if the contributions that the Astar Ecosystem Agent has made to the Astar Network, or the achievements of others who have contributed to other chains, are highly valued.
Hi and thanks for opening this discussion.
I absolutely agree with you on point 1 and 2 as many of us really feel more and more the need to have official material available to work with and interact with the community to increase the value of the content we are publishing.
For the rest I understand your desire to be able to unify the two brands and create unique environments where the community can be involved, we too have created a Soneium Italia Telegram group separate from Astar Italia where the information given is the same. A single group for both realities would be perfect but at the same time I know that it would not be the right thing today because even if there is a close connection between Astar and Soneium, they are still not the same project and therefore it is right that we have two different channels/groups for the 2 communities.
I think the same thing about the Soneium / Astar Ambassador role. Now, Astar ambassadors are also working for Soneium given that we are the figures most linked to SONEIUM as we are special partners with Astar. I believe that it is the case that Soneium creates its own official ambassador team and that certainly the Astar ambassadors who are working so hard with the community in this period should be part of it because, as I wrote above, at this moment (and certainly in the coming months ) we will be the only ones who also work for Soneium to create content and help the community.
I agree with point 1 and 2 100%. Thanks for bringing this, Gustavo.
But I am not sure if the others are the ideal approach once Astar and Soneium are two different brands which makes no sense to unify them… also asking for this could not sound well once the teams are totally different and Soneium focus is Soneium and Astar focus is Astar and its arms (Astar L1, Soneium, Astar EVM - as we have dedicated team to take care of all the arms).
Also, IMO educating about Soneium is more valuable to the Astar than Soneium, once they have no community and our role is bringing Astar community to a new ecosystem which has no token… so we are “working to Soneium” to benefist Astar. Once again, this was something demand by Astar not Sony. At this point, I do not feel confortable to claim Astar Ecosystem Agents the role of Soneium Ambassadors as well.
Thanks again for it starting this discussion. It would be more valuable if Soneium team could express themselves about it. We are just one side of the coin, we need to hear they need first.
Great points, Defiguy! Unified branding, access to official assets Astar and Soneium are together under one Telegram group, which reduces confusion.
A place, like Notion, is somewhat a central place of the brand material; this helps with consistency across different platforms. Excited to see how we can make the transition even smoother!
Thanks for the proposal.
I generally agree with the other commenters.
Soneium and Astar are separate, and I think their relationship is similar to that of Polkadot and Parachain; it is not strange for Polkadot to give out information on each Parachain, and vice versa. However, the reality is that they are separate and there is no need to integrate the social networking sites, which would create unnecessary confusion.
I think what we need to do is to properly explain the relationship between Astar and Soneium and maximize the synergy of both ecosystems. I think 1 and 2 are important for this purpose.
Agreeing with the Point 1 and 2 aswell. This should be standard for every big project IMO. As for the roles etc, I do think aswell that these are two different projects and I am intrested to see how the ambassador roles will be selected for soneium.
The topic is interesting and the points are very good, I think that in the near future everything will be revealed then we will know what will be our role regarding Soneium, on the other hand, we know that we are qualified (we the agents) to take care of both Astar and Soneium, I think that soon many things will be dusted off, times change and now looking for a team of agents as specialized as ours is something difficult nowadays…
