Hello Astar Community,
As introduced during the recent [Request For Comments] Astar Evolution Phase 2 and expanded during our last Community Call, the Burndrop concept is one of the flagship ideas we plan to explore together with the Astar Collective for Phase 2. It is a fresh token mechanism designed to tackle one of our ecosystem’s biggest challenges: long term supply pressure on ASTR. It strengthens our tokenomics and introduces a new utility for token holders. Burning ASTR in exchange for something else: new token(s) from the Startale ecosystem. It is new, bold and understandably raises questions.
And as many of you pointed out during the RFC discussion.
- What exactly is the mechanism?
- How does it behave onchain?
- Is it transparent, secured and verifiable?
- What do participants actually receive in return for burning their ASTR?
These are all legitimate questions and they will be answered in time. Some parts will require public announcements from partners. But on our side, we want to already give you something concrete, something you can test for yourself. This is where the Burndrop PoC comes in.
The Burndrop PoC (Proof of Conviction) is a lightweight, fully onchain product that recreates the core lifecycle of the Burndrop mechanism in a simplified and time compressed environment. Shorter periods, reduced scope, everything designed so that you can understand the flow from start to finish without complexity. It is your first hands on preview of what a Burndrop experience could look like.
Your participation matters. By joining the PoC, you help us stress test the process and refine the user experience. If something feels off or unintuitive, we will adjust it together. The goal is simple: ensure that if the Burndrop becomes a major pillar of Astar Evolution, it is designed with and for the Astar Collective.
So get ready. Prepare your ASTR. The Burndrop PoC is coming this December. No slowdown, no pause, we continue building, shipping and preparing the next chapter of Astar Evolution.
More details soon.
