Having reports in corresponding projects is indeed a great idea
Hello @leo, Astar Network Community, Ambassadors, and Core Team,
I’m Seiya Chida, responsible for the SCI (Starlay Chain Initiative) and a service provider for Starlay Finance. Due to my focus on development and governance within Starlay, I haven’t been as active in the Astar forum as I would have liked. However, I’m committing to more active participation going forward.
Your post, @leo, is truly amazing.
One issue I’ve noticed is a lack of communication about Starlay’s progress to Astar’s community members, leading to subjective criticism against the project that isn’t based on reality. This clearly violates our community rules and guidelines.
To prevent such misunderstanding, I propose implementing a monthly update system for protocols which accept dapp staking within the Astar forum, similar to what is seen in protocols with advanced decentralized governance like Aave. On their delegate platform (Delegate Platforms - Aave), contributors show how they have aided in the protocol’s governance, and voters delegate their votes accordingly. Translating this to Astar’s dApp staking, this would mean a monthly showcase on the dApp staking platform, where protocols demonstrate their activities, influencing where votes are cast. Of course, it’s necessary to verify achievements such as TVL and to check actual work through resources like GitBook. For users, the dApp staking platform can serve as an indicator of what each project is accomplishing.
I agree with your proposition for more transparent management in the dApp staking program. The ASTR token belongs to the community. Projects should be obliged to publish their monthly developments in the forum, show their expenditure, actively use social media to add value, and maintain transparency.
Best Regards,
Seiya Chida
Hi @SeiyaChida and everyone, I’m Kahori from Astar Portal team. Thank you for your valuable suggestion regarding the implementation of monthly reports for listed dApps. I believe this is an excellent idea, and I’m happy to prioritise it for further consideration in our planning.
In addition, I’m excited to inform you about the development of our official V3 indexer. This upgrade is designed to enhance the visibility of various transactions, providing more comprehensive data for both stakers and projects. Please understand that our commitment to transparency has always been paramount. However, due to focusing on achieving significant milestones, some elements were not given immediate attention in our previous phases.
We are on the brink of releasing V3 and will commence testing shortly. Our goal with this update is to address the challenges encountered with V2. While this marks a significant step forward, it is not the culmination of our efforts. We are steadfast in our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring a better and more efficient experience for our users.
Thank you for all supports and feedbacks.
Very anxious to see those improvements in V3 indexer, I’m sure it will be a huge milestone. Thanks for your comment, Kahori!
Sorry but I have trouble seeing any actionable point in using devops tools for 95% of dapps, would you please develop with existing examples which metrics would be monitored for dapps here?
As a devops myself, I’m using these tools everyday and I don’t see any application here for dapps, especially considering most projects can’t afford a devops and don’t actually need one.
