Currently, Astar supports multiple chains, but on Soneium, the operation is expected to be based on tokens rather than chains.
Regarding DApp staking on Soneium, I believe it is not appropriate to allow entries in an unordered manner. This is because there is a possibility that some projects may treat Astar as a mere funding source.
Additionally, conducting reviews for each entry can be cumbersome, and a system that is easily influenced by large holders may compromise fairness. To address these issues, I propose setting certain guidelines.
For example, the following conditions could be considered:
Using Astar as the main token.
Explicitly showing activities or statements that promote Astar.
Furthermore, creating a DApp staking system specifically tailored for Soneium could also be one solution.
With the next DApp staking event approaching, time to consider these issues is limited. However, I wanted to raise this concern in order to discuss potential improvements for fair and efficient operation.
We also need to decide if Soneium dApps should be subject to dApp Staking. This will have to be decided along with the establishment of acceptable guidelines, as it is important for Astar’s development to be aligned with Soneium, and I don’t think there is any doubt about this.
I completely agree with this.
It will take time to create a dedicated system from now on. However, since LSD protocols such as Neemo and Algem can serve as a dApp Staking system on Soneium, there is little need for Astar to devote resources here.
There is a drawback of not being able to freely decide who to vote for, but I think the project should be able to guide the users on that and let them overcome it.
Soneium is part of the Astar ecosystem, but it is not an Astar brand, so I think this is a reasonable obstacle for the dApps there.
Thank you, You.
Indeed, it is not realistic to try and create it systematically from now on given the limited time.
The suggestion was not to make decisions on a case-by-case basis, but to have a set of guidelines with certain criteria (for filtering).
By doing so, I think we can encourage dApps to focus on Astar as well.
