Astar Degens plays an important role in the echo, they have designed their own governance model, and so far they are still in force, thanks for the report.

Hello @Jonas1,

Thank you for the report! You’ve summarized it very concisely.

I believe that making your activities more visible to the community is highly important. Above all, your contributions to both Astar and Soneium give us great confidence in the future growth of the ecosystem.

Looking forward to your continued efforts!

It’s great to see that Astar Degens DAO and its team are continuing to support the Astar ecosystem and are constantly improving, it’s truly rewarding to hear.

On that note, which projects are you currently supporting? It would be interesting to see a post on X talking about that. Or is this already included in your monthly transparency report?

On another note, Yoki Legacy on Soneium has gained significant traction among our users. It would be amazing to see Astar Degens DAO promote it and encourage the community to take part in the campaign. Do you see that as a possibility, @Jonas1?

Dear Astar Community Council and Ecosystem Members,

l will drop drop our actual newsletter first:

Thank you all for the positive feedback and thoughtful questions!

Governance & Focus of the Past Months
Over the past 8 months, our main focus has been on building a solid foundation for Astar Degens DAO — strengthening our internal structure, evolving our governance model, and creating a sustainable framework that makes us less dependent on dApp Staking. This groundwork was essential to ensure that we can invest more actively again in the future while also rewarding community engagement to maintain long-term interest.

Project Support & Investment Strategy
We’ve been in discussions with several projects across both Astar and Soneium. Out of respect for those involved, we won’t publicly share details of collaborations that didn’t move forward.

Looking ahead, we aim to support projects we’ve already invested in more actively — moving beyond the role of a passive funder. First initiatives in this direction are already underway. Additionally, we’re working on including our community more directly in these efforts.

Visibility, Collaborations & Cross-Chain Expansion
As some of you may have seen, we successfully bridged the first Astar Degens NFTs to Soneium, thanks to a great collaboration with the NFT Bridges team (First contact initiated and supported by Astar Degens). The NFTs are already listed on the Posse Marketplace, marking an exciting cross-chain milestone for us.
We’re planning an AMA soon to officially announce and celebrate this achievement.

We’ve also:

Collaborated with Neet for the NFT raffle on Soneium, bringing attention and rewards to our NFT community. NEET Raffles

Our Council Member @Var participated in the Posse Studios AMAs, joining the conversation around NFT adoption and community expansion on Soneium.

We’re actively looking for more opportunities to increase Astar Degens’ visibility and are open to all kinds of collaborations or campaigns that align with our mission.

Open for Collaboration
As mentioned before, we’re committed to contributing more actively again to the ecosystem’s growth. Feel free to reach out to me or any of the council members ( @Mouthmouth68 , @Matt , @PolkaWarrior , @Var , @muraoka ) if you’d like to discuss a potential partnership, have questions, or simply want to connect.

All council members contribute their time and energy for only small compensation – and while I sometimes wish we could move faster, it’s not always so easy how it looks like.

On your collaboration point - I would love to see you guys support the below proposal - as NFT projects we can all collaborate together, and Age of Chronos are developing a framework to be able to drop items in their games so that we can get exposure to other communities. There is also a cross chain element here with them being established on Moonbeam - so overall you guys will have exposure to Astar , Soneium and Moonbeam

The progress report is very detailed and excellent. This helps to see the team’s progress more clearly, especially since Astar Degens is a part of the Ecosystem that forms an important foundation. However, I’d like to ask a few additional questions:

  1. Currently, the NFT market is relatively quiet and not as trendy as before. How is the performance in various aspects such as usage numbers and user count?

  2. Following up on point 1, I’m not sure if this has impacted the project’s revenue to some extent. Does the team have any plans to address this?"

Hello @Dumbell Thanks for your reply. The council supports the initiative as long as it’s based on clear milestones. However, please keep in mind that decisions like this are subject to our community vote, so we can’t guarantee the outcome — it’s ultimately up to our members to decide. We’re looking forward to seeing how this develops!

Happy Weekend!

Hello @BoomBLB

We’re of course seeing the broader slowdown in the NFT space as well. However, certain initiatives like our dApp staking campaign have still driven noticeable activity. Currently, around 270 unique wallets are staking Astar Degens DAO — a number we’re actively working to grow.

We’re aware that the initial 10,000 NFT supply was too ambitious for the size of the project, but it’s worth noting that this decision predates the current council. That said, we’re actively working to adapt and respond to the current market environment.

For example, we’ve partnered with Bifrost to promote vAssets like vASTR through a collaborative revenue-sharing setup, aiming to create new opportunities. We’ve also used parts of our treasury activity to re-engage with the market, including occasional NFT buybacks and DeFi strategies (like Liquidity Provider on Soneium).

It’s also worth noting that Astar Degens is more than just a JPEG collection. With our community and structure, we’re experimenting with governance (like Future DAO Voting on Soneium), tooling (Multi-Sigature Wallet-Setup for Treasury and Voting on Astar), and new forms of engagement. Personally, we are less focused on short-term metrics like floor price, and more interested in building something sustainable and meaningful over the long run.

We’re also working on increasing engagement on Discord. Since it’s not feasible to run large-scale votes daily, we’re introducing recurring actions like monthly meme contests with community voting to keep the activities alive and inclusive.

Managing a DAO like this is more complex than it may appear from the outside. And as interest across ecosystems shifts, it naturally affects community-driven projects like ours as well. We believe progress only happens when we move forward together.

And while Phase 3 is technically still under wraps (though I do love a good leak), it will include a simple Android app with push notifications to help keep members connected and informed.

Hope this answers your questions.

Happy Weekend!

@Jonas1 The progress of Astar Degens DAO has been very noticeable, and I’ll say it again, I’m glad to see that you have a very specific focus on building something sustainable; it’s exactly what the ecosystem needs.

For now, I’ll hold off on my questions. The only one I’d like to ask at this time is: What is the current timeline for Astar Degens DAO? I’d love to read a progress report from you soon.

Wishing you all the best and the full support of the community!

Regarding the DAO, what specifically are you looking for to be elaborated on more? We do have a monthly newsletter.

Hi @Juminstock I understand the wish for a clear timetable — but to be honest, it’s really difficult to provide one at this stage. Our current phase is more of recovery and rebuilding, and many steps depend on external factors and community alignment.

For example, while we’ve been in detailed discussions with four to five different projects over the last 6 to 8 months, we didn’t find a consensus. Also, new projects or investments don’t appear on our table every day. Currently, the council is acting as a kind of due diligence layer, filtering and identifying potential red flags before any proposal reaches the community for voting. This means the process takes time and can’t always be predicted.

That said, when we identify a promising project that fits our values, we’re ready to support it, and our new strategic alignment will help us to move more efficiently in the future.

In terms of concrete milestones:

Bridge integration is scheduled to launch next week, which is a major step.

Two months ago, we completed the final payment to Algem, closing one of our key commitments.

The website is finished, and the community development side is ready, though we are currently looking into options for an external security review before fully pushing the next phases.

Discussions around a potential game integration in Soneium are still on the table, and we continue to explore whether this would be a fit for the DAO and the community.

In parallel, we continue to ramp up our DeFi activities to strengthen treasury resilience and create more flexibility for the DAO.

We also want to be clear: we will not set up unrealistic business plans or promise things we can’t control. Our focus is on moving forward step by step, while staying agile enough to take chances when they appear. It’s a long game for us, and we want to ensure the community is part of this journey.

Regards,
Jonas

Your point is totally valid and understandable. As you mentioned, you’re in a rebuilding phase, and that impacts several aspects of the project.

So, my recommendation is to put a strong focus on your newsletter, as it represents the best source of updates for the community about your project.

Let’s keep working!

Thank you for the details. These things help us see the information more clearly. Regarding the good leak, it’s very interesting - the Android app should help make it more accessible to people. Is there a plan for iOS as well?

Additionally, if you would like help with support or promotion in the Thai community, please feel free to provide feedback. =)
