DeStore Network deserves to be in dApp Staking?

As the voting period approaches, I have been talking with other ambassadors and community members, and there is a blurry cloud surrounding the development of DeStore – very little information has been provided about what has actually been done, and I would like to know what deliverables have been completed up to this point.

1) Lack of concrete information:

There seems to be a “cloud” over the project, with few details provided in public channels and on social media. Despite the visual presence of logos and general discussions about Web3, there is a lack of communication regarding concrete deliverables. A valid point would be the absence of publicly shared use cases to build greater confidence in the proposal.

DeStore Proposal:
Our Build2Earn proposal aims to attract 100 million $ASTR through DApp staking, collaborating with e-LogiT to establish DeStore in Japan. DeAR, our user-friendly wallet with built-in Sony AR features, simplifies Web3 entry for “no coiners” by offering Digital Twin Claim Cards (DTCCs).*

The proposal targets Astar’s ecosystem expansion, empowering stakeholders and facilitating entry for web3-curious enterprises, potentially impacting Japan’s $210 billion e-commerce.*

Stakers with 25,000 $ASTR or more can gain access to our special channels in our Discord and eligibility for DeStore’s private funding round. Community benefits include airdrops and ¥100 worth of $ASTR for DeAR downloads, converting “non-coiners” into stakeholders. Funding allocation splits between development costs and onboarding a Japanese team.*

DeAR addresses the complexity of Web3 entry for newcomers, promoting Astar’s growth. The roadmap includes live trials, DTCC issuance, and collaborations with Astar and Sony.*

2) Critical questions:

Onboarding of Japanese teams through the wallet:
How many Japanese teams have actually been onboarded using the DeAR wallet? If the project is collaborating with e-LogiT and Sony, how has this translated into local team adoption in practice?

Users eligible for DeStore’s private funding round:
How many users are already eligible, and what is the expected timeline for this private funding round? This point is crucial to demonstrate public engagement with the project.

Collaborations with Astar and Sony:
What concrete collaborations have been carried out with these two major entities? Beyond the theoretical proposal, the community is eager to see tangible results from these partnerships.

Outputs of DTCCs (Digital Twin Claim Cards):
How many DTCCs have been issued, and what has the engagement been like so far? This is a direct indicator of product adoption.

All of the questions were formulated based on the team’s promises when applying for the dApp staking program, and what is currently being developed is still not well known by the community. Please, team, clarify the topics that are raising doubts. Thank you.

Hello, partner!

I join the conversation because, as you rightly mention, the next voting period is approaching and it is important to evaluate the dApps that are part of our system.

From my side, I have seen the DeStore team very active the last months, attending events, creating digital content and more, even @DustinLee made a group where he was looking for the Astar name to expand. I can’t say much more than this, but I also find myself interested in knowing how the team has progressed at the development level.

I’ll keep an eye out for responses from the team.

Hi @pitcoin777 You should check out many more dapps, currently real development is lacking, there are dapps that have been using dapp staking as a real milk cow for more than a year, and all of you ambassadors have waged a war of principle against the only developers here who after only 3 months have demonstrated that they can develop a product in line with everything that was written in their proposal. EVERYTHING.

The story of dapp staking is very simple:

Astar attracts developers with a brilliant idea, in the first voting period all the phantom developers propose juicy staking incentives and interesting development ideas.
After the voting period everyone goes back to sleep assuming (and being right) that after the first vote and in fact re-staking, the majority of stakers did not move their astars due to laziness and lack of time (this is widely demonstrable, just check the numbers, apart from rare cases, the idea of the team was not enough to incentivize proactive teams, perhaps arriving later)
In the meantime, a small cartel has been created, supported in some cases by a few dishonest ambassadors, who sometimes have common interests (double role, discussion never continued!), in other cases they just have to get their job done to hide the dust under the carpet.
Today, however, the focus is on Soneium. The mood is “we are all working to migrate to Soneium” without even knowing if the dapp will actually be accepted or not. Further smoke in the eyes for the astar stakers. But anyway, these people supporting dapp have nothing to lose, their earnings will always remain intact.

In the end, the idea of dappstaking, brilliant and above all in line with what should be the principles of web 3, will channel itself over time, through a reduction of constant incentives, and of positions that will perhaps be chosen in a professional and non-communitarian way, it will vanish and will be reformulated by hitting only and exclusively those few developers who work honestly or as in our case have had the courage to underline what was wrong.
This is because there is no courage to admit a mistake or simply to take a strong position such as that which could be greater control, even binding, on income or a correlation between vote and incentive of the staker.

In conclusion, the question to ask, but only after having drawn up a nice ranking of all the earnings from dapp staking and additional activities such as UCG and Yoki Port is this:
What results has team X achieved in this period? Was Astar’s investment in the ideas presented worth it?

** To avoid misunderstandings: We are not referring to Destore, we have not followed this specific project, but to the general trend of things in dapp staking. Just look at the numbers and the results obtained. It would be to see a table with all the income of each team, including dappstaking and see in a year what were the total rewards received and associated with it what were the objectives achieved by the team with those funds. Then it will be up to the community to decide if it was worth it

What can I say, I like to base my assessments on facts. I believe that the blockchain world is still immature and lesser-known ecosystems struggle to get noticed. On the other hand, DeStore is part of Sony’s incubation program and during the last Voting period they had a very interesting roadmap. I would like to hear what @DustinLee and @Doinglifewell think about it directly, also because they too had encountered problems with the support of development given by the new model of dApp staking
I think they deserve to stay but we need to understand how to manage properly future applicants

Hi @pitcoin777

Please see our feedback on this open letter to Astar Network Community.

Answering the critical questions in your post.

[DeStore] As highlighted in our open letter to Astar Network Community, we are working with three Japanese teams (introduced by e-LogiT) as part of a Pilot group. We are working with three Japanese companies as a Pilot group integrating Laava Smart Fingerprints in their manufacturing and warehouse processes, and leveraging our DeAR wallet to unlock the digital experiences. NDA doesn’t allow us to provide further information at this stage.

[DeStore] All the information regarding our private funding round pre-TGE will be shared in our Discord server asap. Please join our Discord if you would like to participate.

[DeStore] We are in constant communication with Astar Network Team, in a private Telegram group, discussing opportunities to collaborate and use our phygital solution. Our latest proposal was to mint bullion gold, silver and bronze coins (similar to the 1oz Silver Phygital Twin DogeCoin minted as part of a Proof of Concept and sent to 10 KOLs, including Sota.

[DeStore] We have issued 100’s of DTCC as part of a Pilot group and campaigns for our customers. The product has been well received with a lot of excitement from potential customers and investors (see feedback provided by @JCryptoRider).

As a final note, we have been part of the Astar Network community for a long time and representing Astar in multiple onsite and online events (as highlighted on our open letter to Astar Network Community). It is disappointing that the first time that we receive any interest from Astar Official Ambassadors is in a post seeking delisting DeStore from Astar B2E Program.

Thank you for your progress.

At least from the project concept perspective, I like it. I believe it is also important to communicate clearly to the market about the progress of your products and services and what has been achieved.

If significant activities and achievements are made but not communicated to the market or the community, it could be perceived as if nothing has been done. Actually this is unfortunate.

I understand that there are things that can and cannot be disclosed due to NDAs when companies are involved. However, the attitude of communication is important.

Personally, I think it would be good to always show the initial roadmap when expressing progress and to report ‘where we are now, what is advancing, and what will be done next.’
This doesn’t need to be flashy.

I’m cheering you on.

The DeStore team is very active in networks, maybe they should update more often the roadmap in their networks.

Thanks for the answering my points. I hope the team keep working hard.

Also I never ask for DELIST I asked for REASONS to be on dApp staking which means to the team point what you guys ACHIEVED from what was proposed in the roadmap… lack of communication is the worst thing in a community driven program as dApp staking - please have this in mind.

I feel bad when we ask for updates and the team say: “join the discord”. IMO progress should be spread to the Astar community and not only for DeStore community and asking for updates is not a reason to feel disappointed at all I am only asking for transparency.

This is not only my feeling, but also the feeling of many agents and community members. I only create the topic to give the team the opportunity to answers the community questions.

Thank you for your feedback.

We will provide an update about the progress of our phygital solution every quarter moving forward as an Open Letter to Astar Network Community, and add a Roadmap in our website to improve the communication with the broader community.

In addition, @pitcoin777 you might want to consider changing the wording used in your initial post, as it has negative connotations. I would have used something like “DeStore - Milestone Achieved and Latest Developments”, instead of “DeStore deservers to be in dApp Staking?”

In an online community, proper communication is key to keep all the participants engaged and aligned with a common goal. In our case, making Astar Network and Soneium the best blockchain and Web3 community in the world!

Hi @Doinglifewell , thanks for the detailed answers as well as the summary open letter. As one of the stakers during the previous two staking periods, I also was curious about the progress.

  1. In the open letter, lots of information is in a two page letter, so it would be great if it can be further summarized to emphasize what to be really delivered to the community. On top of it, it is rather vague, but I am not sure if it was intended to do so. For example, the following is the first bullet point in the letter under ‘DeStore Development Milestones Achieved’,

We have developed our corporate website explaining our product and phygital solution

But my first impression is that you have already had the website, so it is unclear which part you have developed during which period of time window. It is the first point to be shared, then it could have been further detailed. And this is one example among other points.

  1. On top of this, there seem barely no activities in your Github after April 2024 (at the time of writing at the middle of October 2024), which is roughly half a year. I am not sure if it is due to the NDAs and you have some repos private, but on surface, how the community members see DeStore is still somewhat reasonable.

  2. Also curious if DeStore deploys sorely on Soneium or any intention only mentioning Soneium on the official X account. If so I am highly curious if you have plans for the migration from Astar Native to Soneium.

Feel free to let me know if anything is unclear.

Bests,

Hi @Ivan , I am not sure at this moment, changing the title from the current one to one you want it to be is already necessary. It is uncomfortable to see such the title, but perhaps this is where the current sentiment of the community is at with DeStore and its progress shared with the community. The doc, Open Letter, you are referring to was created yesterday (Oct. 19th), so it can be seen a swift response to the community request. However, still there are some more to be clarified or detailed. And it is mainly because of the dApp tier during the previous staking cycle and your committments, asking for more responsibility for what and how you are contributing to the Astar Network ecosystem growth.

Bests,
pithecus

No response to the community questions?

I assume they were busy before the build&earn subperiod started. We are waiting for the responses. Please feel free to share with the community if any point above should be clarified further.

And personally I am also waiting for the assistance for the inquiry I have submitted via the form on the website some time ago.

Hi @pithecus,

Sorry for the delayed response, please find below our feedback to your questions:

  • All the activities listed in our Open Letter to Astar Network Community have been completed during Astar B2E v3 Term 1 and Term 2. For example, we engaged a Design Studio to develop our corporate website (destore.network), which is used by the Team to present our brand and services to potential investors and customers.

  • Our corporate website replaced our maketplace, which was developed prior to DeStore becoming part of Astar B2E program. Our marketplace has been moved to marketplace.destore.network, and we have stopped any further development at this stage.

  • We will summarise the milestones achieved in a roadmap that will be available in our website. This functionality will be available on the next version of the website that is under development at this stage.

  • Our public Github is pointing to our marketplace, not other dApps that are being developed. At this stage, we are not making public other Github accounts used to developed our dApps for security reasons and to protect our intellectual property.

  • We are actively working on Astar Network and Soneium at this stage. We are considering rolling out our phygital solution to other L2 EVM chains in the future.

Thank you for questions.

Hi @pithecus,

Please reach out to Dustin (DeStore CMO) via Discord or Telegram, if you have not received any feedback to the inquiry submitted via our website.

We will look into it straight away and response to your inquiry via private message instead of Public Forum.

Apologies for the delay on replying to you, we are a small team and have several ongoing discussions with multiple customers and investors all the time.

Thank you for your continuous support.

Hi @pithecus,

We have now provided a detailed explanation of what was achieved as part of Astar B2E v3 Term 1 and Term 2.

We would like the title of the post to be updated, as it is in a public forum and might mislead future readers of the forum.

In our opinion, we do deserve to be in dApp Staking and are open to discuss with the community at anytime, as proven in all previous posts and documentation provided.

We are building for the benefit of the Community, including Astar Official Ambassadors.

Thank you for your understanding.
