Metadomo - UCG Application (Term 2)

Introduction

Note before:
This application is for the second term of UCG for Metadomo.
Our first term has completed, see original thread here

Metadomo’s mission remains unchanged: to drive Web3 mass adoption through traditional loyalty innovation.

We are seeking a second term UCG grant delegation for 15m $ASTR.

Recap and Developments

What is Metadomo?

Metadomo is a platform that connects traditional loyalty point programs with a global network of merchants, increasing the point utility and allowing users to spend their points more flexibly while introducing them to Web3 technology.

Company updates

To provide better context on the direction of Metadomo, here are some key updates since the last UCG thread:

Key Developments

Partnership: Moxy

Moxy eSports is a game mode that requires an entry fee by participating players. Entry fees create a rewards pool. Winners receive the rewards pool at the conclusion of the game.

Partnership with Moxy enables a unique proposition in the gaming world - eSports for everyone, with global rewards for anyone.

This integration allows gamers to earn Moxy points through tournaments and redeem them through Metadomo’s merchant network.

Moxy will soon be enabled on many AAA game titles such as League of Legends, PUBG, Valorant, etc. Games with millions of players worldwide.

Partnership: V Systems

Partnership with V Systems, developed by Sunny King (inventor of Proof of Stake), provides Metadomo with an advanced private blockchain environment capable of handling sensitive loyalty information, while able to bridge appropriate parts to multiple public blockchains such as Astar.

The team at V Systems has shown incredible business acumen, particularly in the utility of blockchain in enterprise applications. We are working together very closely at tech and business level.

Acquired Distribution Channels: Traditional point providers

Secured distribution channels of national telecommunications companies across Asia, providing access to a user pipeline of over 100 million users. This includes integration with major telcos like China Mobile International and others. The integration is already complete at the tech level.

Expanded merchant network

Nolan Bushnell is considered one of the godfathers of gaming, seeing our perfect synergy in the gaming and redemption space has decided to join us as an advisor.

Product

Metadomo App

In response to our rapidly expanding distribution channels, we’ve consolidated our services into the comprehensive Metadomo App, now nearing completion. Our partnership with V Systems has made this possible on an incredible fast track, with some technical integrations such as the previously mentioned national telcos already completed.

Key Features:

  • Seamless integration with participating loyalty programs
  • QR-enabled voucher redemption for in-store use
  • Automatic creation of MetaLoyalty Profiles, including an NFT minted on Astar zkEVM
  • Frictionless Web3 onboarding via automated Astar zkEVM wallet creation

The Metadomo App is designed with mainstream users in mind, catering to loyalty point customers with little to no prior exposure to crypto or Web3. This approach allows us to introduce Web3 concepts organically through familiar loyalty mechanisms, driving mass adoption.

Strategic Shift: We’ve pivoted from our initial focus on Rewards Station to better align with our expanded distribution strategy. While the quest board style doesn’t fit our current approach, we may reintegrate this feature in future iterations as our user base grows and diversifies.

We will debut the Metadomo app as part of our roadmap.

$DOMO Token

The $DOMO token forms the backbone of our ecosystem, with three key utilities:

  1. Global Cashback: Our primary consumer-facing utility, incentivizing engagement and transactions within the Metadomo ecosystem.
  2. Data Lake Access: Leveraging our vast user data (with user consent) to provide valuable insights and advertising opportunities to partners, accessible through $DOMO holdings or payments.
  3. New User Acquisition Channel: Offering Web3 projects access to our growing base of verified human users, facilitated through $DOMO. Users are authenticated human non-invasively, by inferring their redemption data. Basically, if you are redeeming vouchers in store, in real life, you must be human.

These utilities are strategically designed to capitalize on our massive user inflow, creating a self-reinforcing ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders - from everyday users to Web3 projects and data partners.

Roadmap

We have a debut campaign in works, summary below:

  • Our gaming partner Moxy will run a Moxy Tournament on DOTA 2, where gaming participants will sign up to Moxy (and automatically to Metadomo)
  • This tournament is themed, such as ‘most healing’ or ‘most damage’, in which the most skilled player receives a reward of Moxy Points
  • These points are then redeemed through Metadomo App, through our global merchants network. These gamers have a Metaloyalty Profile and Web3 Wallet (planned zkEVM) automatically created for them on the Metadomo App

What this debut campaign proves:

  • Our strength in distribution, particularly for audiences that are not familiar with Web3 at the moment. This is the true meaning of ‘Web3 mass adoption’
  • Redemption of points globally (campaign to be focused on Thailand and Japan)
  • Astar’s strength in supporting our mass user inflow

We are planning to release this debut in August, and have more tournaments and redemptions in the subsequent months after. Our focus is to get user numbers up, with those users being non-crypto people who are being on-boarded and introduced to the world of web3 by Metadomo.

Thank you for applying.
Are there any changes to how you will use the dApp Staking rewards compared to last time?

I still believe that the way to attract users is through gaming, Astar’s focus on the Asian market connects well with Metadomo’s dApp and reading the roadmap at the end of the summer I am satisfied with the progress and will support Metadomo :handshake: :space_invader:
Just one question, have you found a solution to connect Astar Native users to Metadomo?

@Takumi-Metadomo
I saw the results of your first round and I must say that all the milestones mentioned were achieved, which definitely gives me a feeling that a good job was done.

In this case, we must choose very well the projects that want to renew or enter for the first time to the UCG program, mainly because the quotas are limited.

Having this point clear, I ask you Metadomo team, what are your milestones for this second round? What do you want and what can you achieve? Why the product is not completely ready yet?

I agree that all milestones from the first round were achieved, indicating a job well done. Given the limited slots in the UCG program, it’s important to choose projects wisely for renewal or new entry.

But same as Juminstock asked Metadomo team, could you share your goals for this second round and explain why the product isn’t fully ready yet?

Absolutely, I agree with you on this, dear friend Matt. It will be great to see the goals.

Appreciate the consideration from everyone.

The Metadomo App is actually mostly built and functional, but we’re strategically timing its public release. The app is designed to integrate seamlessly with participating loyalty point programs, which are crucial for delivering full utility to users. While we’ve secured partnerships and are integrated with the loyalty platforms of major national telcos, these programs aren’t fully activated yet.

These point programs have users literally in the 100 millions, so we are looking to secure our seed round funding first before activating them so we can ensure we can service these users properly.

That being said, the user volumes of the demo I’ve mentioned with DOTA 2 (and subsequently other games) is more manageable (also still huge).

We won’t open the Metadomo app to the public without the context of these connected point programs, since the user experience would currently be limited. We believe in delivering a robust experience from day one, rather than releasing a sparse application prematurely.

This demo in later Aug will give a clear picture of the Metadomo app, how users can earn points through gaming and redeem them in the physical world, all while being seamlessly onboarded to Web3 through our platform.

For milestones:

  • Successful debut of Metadomo app through the DOTA 2 demo
  • Subsequent campaigns with other Moxy connected games such as League of legends, scaling through that
  • Activating the Web3 aspects over time (Metaloyalty Data collection, NFT, etc)

The dApp staking rewards will primarily be allocated towards marketing initiatives. With our core platform build complete, our focus is now on marketing and engagement.

Specifically, these funds will support:

  • Marketing campaigns to raise awareness about our integrations with AAA games and telecom loyalty programs.
  • Community building efforts to foster a strong user base.
  • Potential incentive programs to encourage early adoption and usage of the Metadomo platform.

We’re also maintaining some flexibility in our budget allocation. As we move through our launch phases, we’ll be able to direct funds to areas that show the most promise for driving adoption and engagement.

Metadomo will be on the enterprise focused branch of Astar/Startale, which is currently the zkEVM implementation. Regarding our dApp staking campaign, we have the DOMO token allocation rewards earmarked, this is for both Native and EVM stakers. I will provide instructions Native stakers near the distribution date.

Thank You ! Cannot wait to try Metadomo

Thank you for your proposal for the Term 2.
I am impressed that the milestones for the first phase have been achieved.

I understand your vision and goals (seamless integration with the point program). However, my concern is that the experience themed around “games” seems to be quite removed from the experience of ordinary merchant point program systems, and I would like to know the specific process and roadmap for this area. Conversely, if there are scenarios based on these processes and roadmaps that show a clear improvement in business revenue when the point program system is actually integrated (measurable and plannable), I feel there might be some clients of mine who could be proposed your product in the future.

Great questions, thanks for that.

In regard to this ‘gaming focus’, we consider the gaming points that Moxy enables to have the same function to us as our clients from other loyalty point verticals, such as telcos, airline miles, so we are on the same trajectory as before.

For the purpose of Metadomo’s focus and business case we can look at two types of loyalty points:

-‘Closed-loop’ points, which are created by a brand or merchant for use exclusively at that same brand or within its own ecosystem. Examples of this model would be retailers like Starbucks, or the native points issued by games such as Fortnite V bucks or League of Legends Riot points that are used for in-game purchases.

-The other type are ‘Open-loop’ points that are designed to be used both within and outside the issuer’s ecosystem. Examples are like airline miles (can redeem for flight upgrades but also for rental cars, hotel stays etc), and also what Moxy brings to gaming.

Metadomo is only working with the latter…Open-loop points.

Moxy’s innovation enables an eSports overlay on top of AAA game titles where payers can earn from tournaments and can spend those earnings, including at top retail brands via Metadomo redemption. This is an open-loop model and game changer.

Therefore, our partnership with Moxy is completely aligned with our loyalty strategy and business model, and keep in mind that these AAA games have massive user bases who become Metadomo users as well when they redeem through us. There are estimated 3.09B gamers globally, so this is a great way to launch and bring those users into Metadomo and We3.

Following this, we have traditional point providers like national telcos in the short-term pipeline.

I trust this clarifies and answers your questions.

Thank you for your reply.
In your response, I still cannot comprehend what ‘Moxy’ represents. I have read past posts, but it is still difficult for me to understand. Perhaps when I understand what ‘Moxy’ is, your response will further deepen my understanding. I apologize, but could you kindly and gently explain what ‘Moxy’ is?
Also, if there is something similar to ‘Moxy’ in Japan, please let me know.

Moxy is a game overlay that allows regular gamers to compete in eSports on games which they already play.

This screenshot from the Moxy website explains it simply:

Let’s take an example of League of Legends, a game with one of the highest user bases in the world. Moxy can create tournaments which anyone can participate, with themes such as ‘Most CS’, ‘Most gold earned’, ‘Best KDA with top lane champions’, etc.

Players enter these tournaments, play the game and the winner takes the reward pool, which is paid out in Moxy Points. These points need to be realized into real world value, which is where Metadomo comes in to help. We treat the Moxy points just like any other point program.

This is basically how it works.

Moxy is a great gaming partner for us because they have excellent game compatibility (all games mentioned in OP). A lot of web3 companies working in the gaming space have a problem of getting users for their game, in Moxy’s situation this is not the case as they are already compatible with games that everyone already plays, thus bringing big user volumes, which flows through Metadomo as well.

Hello,

I would like to inform you that all the slots for the UCG program (6 slots) have already been filled, so there are no more slots or tokens available for Metadomo’s application.

Thank you for your reply.
I think I have understood it through your response and other references.
This is indeed an advanced mechanism at this point. At least, I am aware that eSports is finally starting to flourish on its own. (I also play TEKKEN 8 as an eSport, so I can imagine what it’s like.)

With that in mind, considering the previous comment, I certainly think that experimenting with Moxy would be a fitting scenario for realizing the vision of Metadomo in the future.

Thank you for informing us.
In this case, we will withdraw our UCG application.

Thank you for the proposal. If I may, I’d like to ask a few additional questions:

  1. Expanding the business to other countries is a great idea. I understand that each country likely already has several loyalty program options. From the team’s perspective, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed project compared to other competitors?

  2. Following up on point 1, what strategies does the team have to capture market share from other players?

About Your questions I think Takumi answered really well with the last message about the roadmap etc

I’ve read through it thoroughly and have a clearer picture now. Anyway, thank you very much. =)

It will be better for you to prepare for the next UCG program. I read the comments and wish you luck!

I’m not sure if the team has any additional updates recently. If there are any, please feel free to update us. Maybe we can support each other in one way or another. =)
