NFT Bridges - UGC application proposal

NFT Bridges UCG Application Proposal

1. Project Overview
NFT Bridges is a cross-chain interoperability protocol designed to enable seamless transfers of NFTs between different blockchain networks. By leveraging Astar’s smart contract capabilities and cross-chain infrastructure, NFT Bridges allows users to move their digital assets freely, unlocking new possibilities for NFT liquidity, utility, and market expansion. Our platform provides a secure, trustless, and user-friendly experience for collectors, creators, and projects looking to expand beyond a single blockchain ecosystem.

NFT Bridges is a Chainlink BUILD company using CCIP to secure the NFT transfers through the bridge. It is the only bridge that is using CCIP for NFT cross-chain transfers. Leveraging the Chainlink validators network to secure all NFTs moving through the bridge.

2. Alignment with Astar Network
NFT Bridges will integrate with Astar to provide a robust NFT cross-chain bridging solution, attracting new users and liquidity to the ecosystem. By supporting interoperability between Astar and other leading blockchains, we will enhance NFT usability within Astar’s dApp ecosystem, driving engagement and adoption.

Key Benefits for Astar:

  • Increased transaction volume and network activity from NFT transfers.
  • Attraction of NFT projects seeking multi-chain capabilities.
  • Strengthened developer ecosystem through cross-chain smart contract integrations.
  • NFT Bridges will be willing to provide 1,000.000 native Teleport tokens to the Astar council/community as part of the dApp staking and UGC staking initiatives.
  • Users can perform tasks on behalf of NFT Bridges and Astar and receive tokens that can be staked. Some of the rewards will support new applications and infrastructure projects that will choose to deploy on Astar.

3. Technical Details
NFT Bridges utilizes a combination of smart contracts and relayer technology to facilitate cross-chain NFT transfers securely. Key features include:

  • Non-Custodial Transfers: Ensuring users retain ownership of their assets throughout the bridging process.
  • Automated Validation Mechanism: Using on-chain verification methods to confirm NFT authenticity before transfer.
  • Multi-Chain Compatibility: Supporting Ethereum, Polygon, Base, and Astar, with future expansion plans.
  • Gas Optimization: Implementing cost-efficient transaction mechanisms for an improved user experience.
  • Chainlink CCIP Integration: Enhancing security with Chainlink’s validator network.

4. Grant Request and Utilization We request X million ASTR tokens from the Astar Community Treasury to support the following initiatives:

Market Making Activities (30%) – Essential for a successful token launch and liquidity provisioning.
Smart Contract Development & Security Audits (30%) – Ensuring secure and efficient bridge operations.
Adding Up to Five More Bridges to Astar (20%) – Expanding the interoperability capabilities based on the Astar council’s interests.
Developer Support & Integration Grants (10%) – Assisting projects in integrating NFT Bridges into their dApps.
User Acquisition & Marketing (10%) – Engaging NFT communities and projects to leverage Astar/Soneium ecosystems.

5. Milestones & Roadmap

  • Phase 1 (Month 1-2): Smart contract deployment on Astar testnet; initial security audits.
  • Phase 2 (Month 3-4): Mainnet launch; onboarding of early NFT projects and marketplace integrations.
  • Phase 3 (Month 5-6): Expansion of supported chains; community-driven initiatives and governance participation.

6. Community Engagement Strategy
NFT Bridges is committed to fostering an engaged Astar community through:

  • Regular development updates and milestone reporting.
  • Collaborations with NFT creators and marketplaces.
  • Hosting AMAs, educational sessions, and community challenges to increase adoption.
  • Providing Astar-native Teleport tokens to community members participating in governance and staking initiatives.

7. Transparency & Reporting
To ensure accountability, we will provide:

  • Monthly progress reports detailing milestones, expenses, and adoption metrics.
  • Open-source contributions and technical documentation for developer integration.
  • Dedicated support channels for community inquiries and feedback.

8. Additional Incentives

  • Every wallet that stakes at least 1,000 Astar tokens on behalf of NFT Bridges will receive a free Ambassador NFT in their Astar wallet.
  • The NFTs provide various benefits in the Bridge’s economy:
    • Participation in the NFT Bridges DAO.
    • The right to operate an NFT Bridges validator node and receive monthly payments in Teleport tokens for decentralizing and protecting the bridge.
    • Participation in Giveaways, WL spots, and other benefits from collections that will use the bridge.

Conclusion
NFT Bridges aims to position Astar as a leading hub for NFT interoperability by simplifying cross-chain asset movement. With this grant, we will accelerate adoption, drive network activity, and enhance NFT accessibility across multiple ecosystems.

We look forward to working with the Astar community to make seamless NFT interoperability a reality!

Hi @ilan

thank you for the UGC application proposal.

I was reading your application and want to be sure of a point :

Are you aware that UGC grant is not a lump sum of Astar but instead occurs in the shape of the Community treasury staking enough ASTR to reach Tier 3 on the project dApp for a duration of 4 months renewable once (so total of 8 months). The financing occurs then though dApp rewards and not by the donation of a lump sum of ASTR token.

Just to be sure

Thanks @Mouthmouth68
I red the documentation carefully before submitting. :man_technologist:
But, the process is relatively complex, and I must have missed something.
I am aware that the grant is driven by Astar users who choose to stake their tokns on behalf of the project.
The community votes and chooses if to stake on behalf of the project or not.
if there is enough support than some of the staking rewards go to the project for a limited amount of time. Helping it to get traction and provide benefits to the Astar ecosystem.
Did I get it? Or, am I completely off?

Hi @ilan

Partially.

UCG allocation is decided by the ACC (Astar Community Council) after reviewing your application, followed by an on-chain vote.

The grant relies on the Astar Community Treasury, which is used to stake a portion of its ASTR holdings on the dApp of the UCG recipient for a complete Build-to-Earn period (4 months). UCG can be reconducted once for a total cumulated duration of 8 months.

Therefore, UCG recipients receive rewards in the form of their daily dApp rewards (after each era), just like any active dApp participating in the dApp staking program.

As mentioned, UCG aims to stake enough ASTR on the UCG recipient’s project dApp to allow it to reach Tier 3 of dApp staking.

The amount of ASTR earned daily varies according to the ASTR price and the project’s rank within the Tier.

Therefore, if the project manages to attract stakers in addition to UCG support, it can earn additional rewards.

This mechanism also incentivizes projects to grow their staker community to continue receiving financial support once the UCG grant is over.

Using LINK’s CCIP gets me really excited.
It’s a new product, unlike anything we have in our ecosystem.
I believe it will be very useful for our native collections to get closer to Soneium, especially with its IP-centered approach.

I support it!

Very well broken down, @Mouthmouth68! That’s exactly how the UCG program works, every detail.

One additional point I’d like to mention is:

  1. @ilan you can level up on your own without any issues. Each level has a threshold, so if your dApp receives more staking from users, you will be able to level up without a problem, which will allow you to generate more revenue.

just as @Mouthmouth68 mentioned here.

  1. Lastly, once your dApp reaches and can sustain itself at tier 2 without relying on the amount provided by the UCG program, the grant will end, and your project will be considered successful.

If you need anything, don’t hesitate to check the official documentation → Astar Unstoppable Community Grant Program | Welcome to Astar

I think that this a very fair, democratic, and innovative approach for funding.
We will do our best to provide value to the Astar/Soneium alliance and help as many collections as possible to retain, and increase their value by using our infrastructure.

Thank you @pitcoin777
We really appreciate your support.
We are running CCT transactions on Testnet and it’s working well.
I think that many other collections/projects will want to use this approach of launching tehir assets across chains to tap into larger markets and different liquidity pools.

Best

Thank you for your support, @PolkaWarrior
You had a lot to do with it.
Thanks again.

Ilan

I think this is a great project that can increase the visibility and usage of both Astar and Soneium given the mention of the other networks that are included in the list. For me it is more than enough to be part of the UCG system and I will support the proposal

I must say that I really like your proposal.
Both on the CCIP integration side and on your vision on the community side (which I consider very important).
I really liked NFT ambassador which you get with a minimum of $ASTR in staking and gives you access to functions such as governance or giveaways.
Well done guys, I will follow your project, I like it :star:
