NFT Bridges dApp staking proposal

Hello, Astar Community.

I am Ilan from NFT Bridges. We are creating a bridge that will enable the Astar Degens and other collections to move from Astar to Soneium.

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

NFT Bridges - dApp Staking Application

Introduction

NFT Bridges is a cross-chain interoperability protocol that enables seamless transfers of NFTs between blockchains. Our technology allows NFT collections to expand beyond a single ecosystem, unlocking new marketplaces, utility, and liquidity across multiple networks. By integrating with Astar, we aim to provide a secure and efficient NFT bridging solution, strengthening Astar’s position as a hub for multi-chain NFT activity.

We are applying to become a stackable dApp on the Astar Network, allowing community members to support our mission while earning rewards through dApp staking. Once we secure staking support, we will deploy an NFT bridge between Astar abd Soneium. The first collection to bridge will be the Astar Degens, enabling it to migrate to Soneium, a move desired by the Astar Council.

The bridge is a general bridge and will support every ERC-721 collection on Astar that wishes to migrate to Soneium.

This bridge will benefit Astar Degens and serve as a foundational NFT infrastructure for future collections that want to expand beyond Astar while maintaining a strong presence within its ecosystem.

With NFT Bridges, the Astar community will have a trusted, secure, and scalable solution for cross-chain NFT transfers, reinforcing Astar’s leadership in blockchain interoperability.

Project Overview

NFT Bridges is a cross-chain NFT infrastructure designed to allow collections and assets to move freely between blockchains. By integrating with Astar, we will expand the accessibility of Astar-based NFT collections to external ecosystems while bringing liquidity and attention to Astar’s native NFT projects.

Key Features:

  • Seamless NFT transfers: Users can move NFTs between Astar EVM and external chains without friction.
  • Security-first design: Our bridge uses robust smart contract mechanisms and verification layers.
  • Decentralized & community-driven: We empower communities to take ownership of their assets across chains.
  • Gas-efficient transactions: Optimized transactions reduce costs while maintaining security.

With NFT Bridges on Astar, we will provide an essential tool for projects looking to expand beyond the Astar ecosystem while strengthening Astar’s position as a hub for NFT innovation.

Mission

Our mission is to make NFTs truly interoperable by eliminating blockchain silos. By integrating with Astar, we empower NFT holders to move assets effortlessly between networks while ensuring that Astar remains a central hub for NFT innovation.

Our vision is to:

  • Establish NFT Bridges as the standard for cross-chain NFT transfers.
  • Strengthen Astar’s NFT ecosystem by enabling collections to grow beyond Astar while maintaining a presence in the network.
  • Increase liquidity and utility for Astar-based NFTs.
  • Help Astar attract new NFT projects that seek interoperability solutions.

By supporting NFT Bridges, the Astar community directly invests in a decentralized, multi-chain future where Astar NFTs have global reach and utility.

## Security

Security is the foundation of NFT Bridges, and we achieve this by leveraging Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP)—the most secure and robust cross-chain communication standard available today.

Why Chainlink CCIP?

  • Industry-Leading Security: CCIP is backed by a decentralized network of highly secure, independent validators, ensuring that NFT transfers are executed with integrity and without risk of tampering.
  • Built-In Protection Mechanisms: Chainlink employs anti-fraud measures and rate limits to prevent exploits, making it significantly more secure than traditional cross-chain solutions.
  • Reliable Data & Execution: A battle-tested Oracle network verifies every transaction, ensuring that assets move precisely as intended without risk of being lost or intercepted.

By integrating CCIP directly into the core architecture of NFT Bridges, we guarantee that every Astar Degen NFT will be transferred safely and securely to Soneium. Users can trust that their assets remain fully protected throughout the entire process.

With Chainlink CCIP at the foundation of our bridge, NFT Bridges is setting a new gold standard for secure cross-chain NFT transfers, reinforcing Astar’s commitment to security and interoperability.

Past Performance and Milestones

NFT Bridges has a proven track record of developing cross-chain NFT interoperability solutions and successfully executing NFT transfers across multiple blockchain ecosystems.

:white_check_mark: Built the first NFT bridge between Stacks and Ethereum – Our initial bridge facilitated over 2,200 transactions on testnet, proving the demand for and feasibility of seamless NFT movement between these networks.

:white_check_mark: Rebuilt the bridge with Chainlink CCIP – Leveraging the most secure cross-chain protocol, we enhanced our bridge’s security and reliability. We have not yet launched the CCIP-powered bridge commercially. We have a list of more than ten collections waiting for our commercial launch. We will launch the bridge commercially at the end of this quarter/beginning of the next quarter. We delayed the launch to ensure the bridge is scalable, secure, and fully optimized for multi-chain NFT transfers.

:white_check_mark: Successfully moved NFTs across multiple Mainnets – We have executed NFT transfers between Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Base, BSC, Flow, Stacks, and Bitcoin, demonstrating our ability to operate across EVM and non-EVM ecosystems.

With these achievements, we are now ready to bring our expertise to Astar and deploy a fully operational Astar-Soneium NFT bridge. Ensuring a secure and seamless migration for Astar Degens while setting the foundation for future NFT interoperability on Astar.

## Roadmap

Phase 1: Testing & Launch of Astar Degens Bridge (Q1 2025)

  • Integration of Chainlink CCIP for secure cross-chain transfers

dApp Staking Reward Usage Breakdown

We will strategically invest the rewards earned through dApp staking to support Astar Degens holders, facilitate cross-chain migration, and strengthen Astar’s NFT ecosystem.

  • 30% - Launching Teleport Token on Astar & CCT Contract Deployment
    • Deploying Teleport Token on a Cross-Chain Token (CCT) contract, enabling native interoperability across multiple blockchains, including Astar.
    • Ensuring Teleport Token is fully functional within Astar’s ecosystem, enhancing NFT and DeFi integrations.
    • Facilitating cross-chain utility for NFTs, making them more versatile within Astar and beyond.
  • 50% - Reduce bridging fee for Astar users.
    • Supporting Astar NFT holders who migrate to Soneium by distributing a portion of dApp staking rewards.
    • A monthly snapshot of transfers from Astar to Soneium will determine reward distribution.
    • The 50% dApp staking fees will be equally divided among NFT holders that moved to Soneium.
    • Rewards will be airdropped monthly to eligible users, incentivizing migration and ensuring holders benefit from the transition.
  • 10% - Security & Development Enhancements
    • Ongoing audits and security improvements to maintain the highest level of protection for cross-chain transfers.
    • Further optimizations of Chainlink CCIP integration for maximum security and efficiency.

What a great project you have come up with! I like to think about the idea of creating interoperable NFTs between the Astar network and Soneium, although I can’t really estimate the complexity of creating such a system.

Your roadmap seems to me well landed and planned, I’m looking forward to see the V1 of the product soon.

I wish you much success with the project and LFGM!

Hi friends,

Happy to see your application.

Fiew question for you. (As a member of AD council, i already know thos answer but would be nice to clarify for other users

  • what’s the current point of developments of the bridge on astar?

  • you are mentioning only bridge from astar to soneium or other chain but not the reverse. Where in your roadmap this functionality is expected to be online?

  • once NFT bridge will be online on mainenet and how long would it take to onboard new Astar NFT collections and what will be the expected cost?

Thx in advance

Thank you, Juminstock.
We appreciate your feedback, and support.
As you said, LFGM!!! :grinning:

Hi, @Mouthtomouth68

Thanks for the feedback.

Here are our answers to your questions

  • The Bridge is fully functioning on Testnet. As far as we understand, members of the Council tested it and were able to move their Testnet Astar Degens to Soneium.
  • The bridge works two ways from any network that we support and that Astar will want to enable bridging to.
It is possible to move a testnet Astar Degen from Astar to Soneium and BACK.
If the Astar council will choose to enable migration to and from other chains, NFT Bridges is ready to enable it.
At this point we support bridging to the following chains:
ETH, Polygon, Flow, Solana, Base, BSC, Astar, Soneium, Stacks and Bitcoin.
We intend to add Matis before the end of this quarter.

Every collection on Astar can choose to bridge to these chains and Astar as an entity can figure out incentives that it can offer to collections on different chains to entice them to migrate to Astar/Soneium.

  • how long will it take to add additional collections - Standard #RC-721 NFT collections will take a very short time to add and test.

Complex NFT protocols such as ERC-404 and RMRK will take longer. depending on the complexity needed for bridging.

Cost - At this point we do not charge the collections for creating the bridging instance for them. We only charge a $5 fee for every NFT bridged through our infrastructure.

Every collection gets their own testnet instance before deploying on Mainnet, to allow collections and communities to verify for themselves that he bridging is working as should.

I hope this answers your questions.

The proposal is good. If I may, I’d like to ask a few additional questions:

  1. What are the team’s goals or targets in terms of numbers?

  2. What are the details regarding direct and indirect competitors of the project?

Hi, BoomBLB

  1. We are here to support Astar in its move to Soneium. We are ready to move all NFT collections that are interested in in bridging over to Soneium.

  2. As far as I know there are no NFT bridges active between Astar and Soneium at this point.
There are many bridges leading to Soneium from different chains, but they are all fungible token bridges according to the information we got from Posse, the team that is building the Soneium NFT market.

In general, there are active bridges that also bridge NFTs, NONE of them uses Chainlink’s CCIP protocol to secure the NFTs transfer between chains.

Let me know if this answers your questions.

Thanks

Hello team! Thank you for your application.

Although the NFT ecosystem on Astar is currently limited and doesn’t show prospects for exponential growth, I see a bridge to Soneium as essential.

Since the dApp focuses solely on providing infrastructure, I support it, but I have some questions regarding the security and reliability of NFT transfers. Could the team elaborate on this?

Security risks

  • Smart contract exploits: Bugs in the contracts used to lock and mint NFTs can be exploited, leading to irreversible losses.
  • Reentrancy attacks: Hackers might manipulate transactions to withdraw more assets than they should.
  • Fake NFTs: Without strict validations, there’s a risk of minting fake NFTs on the destination blockchain.

Governance risks

  • Centralized control: Some bridges rely on centralized validators or oracles, which could jeopardize security if those entities are compromised.

  • Compromised keys: If the private keys of the bridge’s administrators are hacked, locked assets could be stolen.

Economic risks

  • Liquidity imbalance: If too many NFTs are locked on one network without proper backing, confidence in the bridge could decline.

Looking forward to hearing more about how you plan to address these risks!

Thanks

Thank you for your application. It’s a very useful project. Building workable bridges between Non-EVM<->EVM shows your success.
I’m curious, are your bridges unidirectional? For example, can a user move their NFT from liner to soneuim, then give up and send their NFT back to liner?

Also, can you offer this bridge operation not only for Primer EVM but also for Primer Substrate, am I understanding correctly?

Thank you for the feedback. I have a clearer picture of the project now. If I may, I’d like to ask a few additional questions:

  1. What are the sources of revenue for this project?

  2. Regarding costs, what are the details and how does the team plan to manage them?

Hi, Pitcoin777

Sorry for the late reply. I was traveling yesterday and today, with limited internet access.

We chose to participate in the Chainlink’s BUILD program and get Chainlink’s support in implementing its Cross-chain protocols exactly because of the risk you mention in your post.

Bridging is done through CCIP, which is a secure and efficient way to transfer assets between blockchains.
CCIP has a built-in mechanism for handling reentrancy attacks and preventing double spending.
CCIP oracle network is a decentralized oracle network where every transaction is monitored and verified and if any issues are found, the transaction will be stopped.
Since the destination chain is also EVM compatible, the destination contract which is an ERC721 has built in checks to prevent minting of duplicate NFTs .
We also have the list of contracts that are managed by the bridge on our docs which will help people cross verify the authenticity of the NFTs.
We will also be on the outlook for fake NFTs and will actively report them to the concerned marketplaces.

Governance risks

We are planning to go multisig in the future.
The NFT contracts on the destination chains are owned by the bridge contract and the bridge is currently owned by a hardware wallet.
The admin tasks on the bridge are managed by a software wallet for ease of use but this wallet has limited access control.
In case of a security breach, the hardware wallet will be able to remove access permission for the admin wallet.

Econimic risks

I am not sure exactly what this mean. What kind of backing does an NFT has on the original chain…?
We believe that by providing the liquidity pipeline between chains, we will wnable users to choose the chains of their choice for deploying their assets.
The market would decide which chains become more popular and has more value for NFT holders.
We expect that if successful, our presence will encourage chains to compete for a growing market of the NFT market.
This competition would provide growth injections to different collection that will have a choice where and how to deploy their collections.

I hope this answers your questions.

The Bridge is Multi-Directional.
An Astar NFT that is moved to Soneium can be moved back to Astar if the owner chooses to do so.
We are not supporting Liner at this point, but intend to do that in the future if there is a demand for that Bridge,
if you Know collections on Liner that are looking for a Multi-Chain deployment, please send them our way.

We support the following Chains at this point:
ETH, Polygon, Flow, Solana, Base, BSC, Astar, Soneium, stacks and Bitcoin.
We intend to add a Bridge to Matis at the near future.

i hope this answer your question.

Thanks

Hi, @BoomBLB

  1. We received an investment from the Bitcoin Frontier Fund and also invested our own funds in nFT Bridges.
Revenues will come from our Teleport token sale, and bridging fees by collections and gaming platforms.
  2. The cost for bridging an NFT is $5 plus Gas fees. We are enabling various mechanism to save on Gas fees, such as approving multiple NFTs for transfer on a single transaction, as well as enabling the bridging of a group of NFTs in one transaction, again to save on gas fees.

Ilan

Great project!

Astar desperately needs this infrastructure if we want to become more alligned with Soneium.

You guys should also apply for the UCG grant

Thanks for your support @FFR23

Where do we apply to the UGC grant?

Thanks.

Ilan

You have to apply on the forum directly by opening a new proposal under
“Proejct name - UCG Proposal” title and select “Governance” & “dApp Staking Applications” categories

It is a similare process to dApp staking proposal for which you have to describe the projet, team, target etc… as you’ve already did for your dApp application.
You can also inspire yourself of other UCG application on the forum. You can find them easly by searching for “UGC application” in the reaserch box

you can find here a bit of information on UCG here :

The information in the investor section is quite interesting. Regarding revenue and costs, I now have a clearer picture. I would like to ask some additional questions about other aspects:

  1. In terms of goals, what numerical targets has the team set?

  2. Who are the direct and indirect competitors for this project?

Hi, @BoomBLB

  1. We believe that the future of the NFT market is cross-chain. Collections will mint and sell cross-chain. Our goal is to get at least 5% of the market. All predictions see the maket growing to more than $100 Billions by 2030.
  2. Please see the attached slide from our investor deck.

Thanks
