As the owner of the NEET, I am humbly requesting an update to the admin wallet address associated with managing NEET dApp Staking on the Astar portal. This change is necessary due to the unfortunate loss of access to the previous wallet.
Details:
Current Setup:
NEET is an active participant in dApp Staking, where the admin wallet plays a vital role in managing its description, assets, etc on the Astar Portal.
NEET dApp Staking address on the Astar Portal:
0x32f35525bb480375064b989b9b41bc47e0d01faa
Old Admin Address: ZFtMmJhsbE1QZKfCCJTuf7xdmyj2mh7Rjz51enu2krthyW5
New Admin Address: WgYKr9CH2YLR8b51Bk1Dhv1Gu5biJbJWUywx5M179Jz9iCX
Reason for Update:
The old wallet is no longer accessible, and updating the admin address will allow for the continued proper management of NEET dApp Staking.
Request:
I kindly ask for your assistance in updating the admin wallet address to reflect the new address mentioned above. Should any additional information or clarification be required, I would be more than happy to provide it. Thank you for your understanding and support.
I agree with your point. These kinds of situations can definitely happen—wallets can get lost, become inaccessible, or even compromised. But it’s super important to take a cautious approach when updating something as critical as an admin wallet address. Verifying the new address and making sure the request is legit is key to avoiding any potential fraud.
It’s also a good idea to have some kind of process in place for situations like this, like checking previous activity or requiring proof of ownership. That way, everyone involved feels secure, and it helps maintain trust within the community.
@Gaius_sama@0xRamz are there any kind of guidelines for these kind of situations? Or is this something that the upcoming ‘Community Council’ will set?
From the explorer it seems the last call was done 68 days ago, so many rewards has been not claimed yet, by changing address will those rewards be lost?
@Satoshi would it be possible to share screenshot of the exchange the transfer went 68 days ago? This can confirm you do have access to the exchange wallet used and being the right benificiar of this address.
Eventhough your account shared the information here:
It’s always possible you are not the owner anymore of this account
Technically, it’s possible tu update the owner of the dapp registered in the dApp Staking via the sudo key. Later it will be possible to do it via Astar Gov.
But it’s up to the community to vote for this update.
From my side, I would like to know the exact reason for this loss access to wallet.
Was it a multisig?
Does the whole NEET team agree with this proposal?
I want to address your concern directly. As the CEO and founder of NEET, I am speaking on behalf of the entire team. I was the sole admin of the DApp staking wallet.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I lost access to the wallet recovery key because it was stored in my Apple iCloud account. Unfortunately, I forgot to secure the 28-digit recovery key required to regain access to iCloud.
This situation has left me unable to recover the wallet at this time. I’ve reached out here to seek assistance and explore any possible solutions. Your understanding and any constructive advice you can offer are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for addressing this issue openly. It’s unfortunate to hear about the situation with the wallet recovery key, but it’s good that you’re seeking assistance and exploring solutions. Hopefully, the community can come together to offer constructive advice and support.
