@BoomBLB If you want, we can answer, let’s start by saying that the development is currently not on Astar but on Moonbeam, since we had 250 interested stakers, every now and then after a few months we also update here for fairness towards them. In any case, Age Of Chronos is a project based mainly on the SERIOUS use of the RMRK protocol. This requires an EVM network for us, so if there was interest in real support we would not exclude the possibility of doing it also on astar evm or zkevm, also because the goal of SFY Labs is to create cross-chain and cross-collection nfts being specialized in 3d, it is a goal that fits perfectly with our ideas.
Current Development:
Age Of Chronos is a first-person dungeon crawler created in 3d entirely by the SFY graphics team, using assets created from scratch is very important to us since we have high quality standards,
The game has particular dynamics close to classic dungeons like Legend Of Grimrock, and the goal is to overcome increasingly difficult levels. At the end of each level it will be possible to craft an nft.
The collection at the base of the game will evolve based on the onchain interactions of the players. A small summary of everything done IN JUST 3 MONTHS of development supported by Moonbeam here:
We are not and do not aspire to become a AAA game, but we have used real skills to channel RMRK technology to Moonbeam. This will allow us to seriously evolve the game with the #web3 ideology. Think about Soneium and how interesting it would have been to propose an idea like that. When someone proposes a game to you even here on astar and tells you the interaction is based on the classic token gate and stop, do we really want to believe that this is the right path? Age Of Chronos makes sense, the blockchain is decisive in the game, and can be proposed as an essential feature, in other contexts it is and will remain only a bottleneck that will make web2 companies not interested in pursuing a steep path that makes no sense.
COLLECTIBLE CHAPTER: Currently AOC is the first equipable and animated 3D collection in the world. We also wanted to innovate on the collection because for us it was also important on a gaming level for players to look at and inspect their objects at 360 degrees. This will obviously lead us to create community interactions such as the creation of easter eggs that you can only find in certain places of the nfts etc…
Furthermore, all the pieces have a double resource, which allows us to display them correctly on the store. I think we have put a decisive point on the use of classic nfts 1.0 that have no real utility and that people tend to get bored of after a while.
It was a very complicated challenge that we solved together with the rmrk team, in particular Ilia and Yuri Petusko, working for months and testing their 3d viewer with our graphics to make it as high-performance as possible.
Blockchain side I summarize what is written in the article, we use Thirdweb external service for their engine, it allows us to call all the functions in UNITY which is currently our software for creating the game and which does not support soldity.
Each game can only be played with all 4 characters and the MINT is FREE and will be forever. To date we have received about 500 unique mints for each character in the Moonbeam LFG event, which revealed our MVP with the first level that allows you to craft a unique item among those available.
We use practically all RMRK protocols, from the classic equippable and composable, then Soulbound which is a unique feature to avoid initial spam since the game is free, only real players will be able to evolve their characters, up to the brand new erc 7508 and 7590.
erc 7508 allows ONCHAIN leveling of player characters. This is one of the things that should be underlined and promoted for the web2 companies interested in approaching this world, making it clear that the entire gaming experience will have value if it passes through the blockchain and that it does not have to be just a gaming-reward experience.
The 7590 that allows the sending of erc20 tokens on nfts characters (think of a personal wallet for each character) and this could unlock through our The erc7590 has not been used yet, but it is already implemented (it had to be inserted at the beginning) and for us it will be fundamental in phase 2. With a game with a practically infinite story based on time travel, the first season (Nomindio Labs Corp Tower) could be the beginning of a saga and we would like this to be sponsored and shared in the dotsama ecosystem by the majority of existing parachains. In this context, the 7590 allows the sending of erc20 tokens on nfts characters (think of a personal wallet for each character) and this could unlock through our partners the sending of tokens -rewards directly to the characters who deserve it based on their in-game activities. This makes nfts top tier, and sellable through the marketplace with all these top features (equippables that add or modify features, onchain level as experience, and tokens spendable by your characters themselves)
USING THE RMRK PROTOCOL is very complex. The functions to be used with smart contracts are endless, exposing nfts to become a higher level obviously also the possibilities become endless.
We are a top tier team and have proven it for years, the work is tangible and not hypothetical as you see. Team Astar contacted us personally in 2021 to use our graphics at community events in a world without AI… and our team received support from Astar during that time. This is why we were very disappointed by the experience here in the last year, especially given the NEVER DISPUTED results of the majority of dapps, including scams.
Despite this we tried to get closer with a new dapp for our donkey gang community, but without success, it could have been an open door for AOC too.
We see that many dapps after 1 year of unconstrained support have received considerable figures, which in our hands would have earned perhaps 2 complete games. The problem highlighted by many other people especially in the last few days is evident. No ambassador has offered to understand the situation or mediate for our return, simply because they are not interested. For Astar today it would have made much more sense to have SFY Labs on board than many other “developers”. We have always been very direct in our communications, but because we have nothing to hide, and we are sorry if some people were offended by our way of doing things, but the truth as you can see sooner or later comes out. Of social and collaborative promotions like those that took place on astar in the last year, only the expense remains in terms of value, but no one will remember them in the future, they are accessory, momentary values. The serious development of a dapp is the only thing that matters. Not having a complete game and really with a web3 ideology to propose in a Soneium perspective is very serious for us since we are talking about Sony. Then everyone thinks as they want.
I hope we have answered all your questions well regarding the difficulties faced and sorry for the little final outburst.
