Hi Astar Community,

I wanted to take a moment to clarify the scope of our LFGM (Let’s Fearlessly Go Mainstream) campaign and its relationship to the broader incentive programs we’re developing.

First and foremost, LFGM is designed as a campaign in collaboration with dApp teams on Astar and Soneium in a testnet environment. This initiative aims to showcase examples of ASTR utilities in Soneium, spotlighting innovative ways it can add value to our ecosystem. While it includes weekly prizes as an incentive to acknowledge meaningful contributions, it doesn’t involve any large-scale distribution of assets as an incentive structure. The objective of this testnet campaign is to showcase what the ASTR utility is for new users and for OG ASTR holders to showcase our cross-chain utility of the ASTR token when the Soneium mainnet is deployed. When the mainnet is deployed and the real value of ASTR is available in the ecosystem, this is where the incentive campaign with a token would start. This will be with full transparency with our community around why, what, and how.

We recognize that some members may have expected an incentive campaign with a different structure, so I want to confirm that LFGM is not the primary incentive campaign we’re planning. Our primary campaign, which will involve broader incentives, is in the development stage with the learnings from the LFGM campaign and will be rolled out once we finalize the details and Soneium mainnet is live.

Thank you for your patience and for sharing your enthusiasm. I’ll keep you posted as we get closer to launching the main incentive campaign, with clear communication on what you can expect from each phase. Please feel free to reach out here if you have further questions, and we look forward to seeing the ways you interact with and benefit from the LFGM campaign.

The weekly prizes in the LFGM campain add a cool layer to it,

It’s a smart way to bring people in and show what ASTR can do.

Interested to see what’s ahead though !

Thank you for the details, I will look into it.
Users (especially in this industry) would think of an ā€œincentive campaignā€ as a more direct way to get rewards (tokens).
However, ā€œincentivesā€ inherently take many different directions, so I don’t think this case is wrong in my opinion. Also, I don’t think this format is bad because it is not good to give out big rewards in a test net. The only problem was the discrepancy in perception.

This is the beginning of a broad incentive campaign, and I look forward to seeing how it develops in the future!

100% agree.
Thanks for sharing your feedback.

Hi Maarten, thanks for the clarification. I also agree what @you425 shared that incentivized programs (or campaigns) do not need to be airdropping tokens. It actually allows the campaign designers to have more flexibility and try something innovative as well.

Greetings Maarteen, first of all, thank you for your work.

My expectation for the primary campaign in the future is to raise awareness of ASTR in the Superchain/Optimism ecosystem rather than to raise awareness of ASTR in Soneium.

In the meantime, I have some ideas for future campaigns, especially the LFGM campaign. I would appreciate a response at your convenience, does it make sense? Or does it not make sense? If it doesn’t make sense, I’d appreciate it if you could tell me why. If it makes sense, I would like to discuss how we can make it better.;

Hey @Maarten

I support this initiative, as it will make dApp staking more competitive and valuable, something I previously recommended to @0xRamz to bring to the team’s attention. Currently, some projects within the dApp staking system are merely farming ASTR without offering real value or having any active dApps contributing to Astar, Astar zkEVM, or Soneium. Additionally, it’s crucial to address projects that simply replicate existing solutions without adding unique value. Many of these projects rely heavily on hype without delivering substantial benefits to the ecosystem. Preventing such projects from being listed will ensure that only innovative, impactful, and value-driven initiatives thrive, strengthening the ecosystem as a whole.

Thanks! I believe this is now resolved. Let me know if you catch any that still exist.

hello @Juminstock, @Maarten, the fact is that the entire Brazilian community is lost with countless advertisements and little real delivery. We in the Brazilian community are looking for clarity, the ambassadors only know which place to ask questions is in the forum. We know that great work and great partnerships have been carried out, but many of them are off the map, an example being the partnerships with Docomo, Mazda, among others. What we see daily, whether from the official profile or from Sota’s profile, are countless advertisements and concentrated effort on Sonium, with no real deliveries so far.

Hi, @Kabrine, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the forum.

It is true that there is still a lot of information without much clarity, there are issues that are yet to be announced, however, both @Maarten, @sota and the rest of the team have made public on different occasions the role that Astar will play in all this, for example last week there was a news where the community was informed that you can now transfer ASTR tokens from zKyoto (Astar testnet) to Minato (Soneium testnet) which translates to an interoperability of the ASTR token.

There is still a long way to go, but the Astar team is working hard to make this clear to users and us as a community.

Hello everyone.

Thanks for joining the convo. I believe that this is a very important topic for all Astar community members to know. First of all, the core strategy for Astar Foundation is to align with Soneium strongly. Given that Startale is building both, this is a natural strategic move to make both ecosystems successful. In the long run, at Astar Evolution Phase 2, we are considering multiple options that benefit the Astar community, but we cannot disclose them at this moment.

Once Soneium mainnet is launched, we will showcase the value of ASTR token on Soneium. Currently, only Soneium testnet has been launched. People will know the values after the launch. I think we have already overcome the hardest moment. Time will tell.

the mainstream is waiting for us :star::cd:

Hi!

I obviously didnt’t research enough as I always thought Startale is a private company no longer involved as much in Astar building and has moved to building on Soneium. This is great.

May I ask what will be the value of keeping both chains? Isn’t this hard to acomplish and expensive to maintain for both to be successful? Why are both necesary and what will be the main purpose of each? I am especialy interested on progress of Astar L1 chain?

I am looking forward to showcase the value of ASTR token.
Thank you all involved for not giving up on ASTR. Launching own token on Soneium would be lethal for ASTR.

I think your concerns are valid.

Astar L1 and Soneium L2 maintain in parallel is not something that can be simply eliminated one or the other because they are operated differently (Astar Community and Sony BSL) even if the developers are somewhat the same, and they are different in nature.
However, we are now at Phase 1.5 of Astar Evolution and 2.0 will come in the future. It may change significantly again at this time.

Thank you for your reply @you425

Just so all know I am not expecting any huge airdrop or sudden price rise. I am here since lockdrops and this what was written below in last Announcement doesn’t reasure me ASTR will play a major role in Soneium ecosystem.

:busts_in_silhouette: For ASTR Holders
This collaboration brings exciting benefits for ASTR holders:
:white_check_mark: Access to Soneium’s DeFi and creative economy.
:white_check_mark: Seamless liquidity bridging on the Astar Portal.
:white_check_mark: Integration into gaming, SocialFi, and consumer apps as an ecosystem token.
:white_check_mark: A new era of decentralized opportunities awaits!

As for first point to my understanding Soneium DeFi and creative economy will be accesible to many tokens, not just ASTR.
Second point is great! Secure bridging above other.
Who can guarantee ASTR will be an ecosystem token for all these dApps? Can an example be given so I can understand better what is ecosystem token for let’s say a consumer app?
Fourth point is more hype?

Please don’t take this as FUD, as not intended. I just want to be assured as an ASTR holder/investor I still have a future. I know I am not the most active, but I do speak out when I think I must.
I see many projects strugling with their ecosystem tokens ( COSMOS- ATOM(they implemented a team now to change that), POKADOT-DOT…) Only success I see with Solana as being ecosystem token used in all protocols…

Will ASTR be used in all protocols as well? Or are some other utilities in plan?

Unfortunately, the current situation only shows potential and the BD of the Astar Foundation is only asking for ASTR to be used for projects to be launched on Soneium.
The treatment of ASTR in Soneium is similar to ARB and OP and cannot be enforced any further. Otherwise, Soneium’s dApps will contribute to the value of ASTRs through dApp Staking.
We will have to work together to ensure the presence of ASTRs on Soneium.

Other than that, nothing concrete has been indicated so far.

Understand now the way of ASTR token. Thank you. Much appreciated your reply. Hope we get good projects building on Soneium and see clear and bright path ahead for ASTR.
