D8A - UCG application

I have been building ASTR things pretty much since the start.
Most of the things built have been successful in reaching many users but I am here today to try and earn my first $s and start paying for my server costs.

It is hard to convert people organically to stake on my DAPP.
The main problems are:

  1. Liquid staking is better due to the speed and flexibility of withdrawal. I tried to get this problem resolved but I can understand the sensitivity of disrupting some of the other dapps.
  2. If there is no financial incentive via tokens then why stake with a project even if they are actively building amazing tools.
Showing support is ok with a few tokens but if we’re talking about M’s of ASTR. Then yield is extremely important especially for the bigger guys!
  3. I don’t really want to go down the route of managing other peoples assets or creating a token for people speculate on my tokenomics. For me it’s always been about ASTR and bringing people here for the convenience of the cross-chain features. I don’t want to promise people the moon. I just want to work on my project in peace :peace_symbol:

The new website is getting exciting and the backend is starting to look even better!
I am particularly excited about the profile section and wallet linking.
I truly believe that D8A will have some really killer applications in the next years and I will be here building as always!
When all my products are built (Estimate 6 months). I hope to get a few audits and then heavily focus on marketing!
But for now I will continue to build great tech!

Thanks for any support!

I’m looking forward to the experience of UCG and working closer with the council.
I think it will be beneficial for both projects. Currently I’m building alone but with the support of UCG I can collaborate with other projects and developers.
There are a lot of interesting use-cases to explore with the D8A project.

I posted some recent updates/roadmap on the dapp staking proposal.

All the project details are the same:

Thank you for your proposal to UCG.

I think it is truly admirable that you have continued developing on your own.

However, I believe that the community members, myself included, would like to clearly and concretely envision how your project can contribute to Astar in the future—just as you are excited about it yourself. Therefore, we would like to understand: why are you aiming to develop this product? What are the underlying challenges? (It would be better if you could show not only your personal perspective, but also quantitative analysis based on market research or your experience.) And are you trying to address what users are actually expecting? We would appreciate it if you could articulate these points more thoroughly and prepare a more detailed proposal document.

Another point of concern is whether it is sustainable for you to continue this alone. What you have achieved single-handedly so far is truly remarkable. However, when the project grows significantly in a planned manner, I assume you may need to expand your team. In that case, at what stage would you decide to add members, and how would you go about doing so? Including such considerations in your proposal would also be valuable.

The main reason for developing this product is to easily onboarding new users..
The process of buying a ā€œAstar Degen NFTā€ from ETH is complicated.
Receiving a link that does all the work for the user is easy adoption..

I’m not a quantitative analysis expert but I expect huge growth in the CCIP sector of crypto.
CCIP can bridge any kind of valuable data, not just tokens. This can be game assets, NFTs and more. I believe all kinds of financial instruments are going to be built there soon. So I’m hoping that D8A can catch some users in the crossfire and land them on ASTAR. Also we have Startale coming which will need CCIP applications.

D8A is not just a website but it is a whole ecosystem of products.
We have a bot for telegram/discord/decentraland/twitter
Having the power to perform Astar transactions from any application is a huge bonus for the Astar ecosystem.

Decentraland is a unity 3d environment that can now perform Astar transactions.
This can be pushed to more applications.

Currently I work for free as I believe in the final product and the server costs are affordable but with the new product I expect a boost in revenue and profit. I have single handedly brought 100,000+ users to the astar ecosystem, mainly around the time of the 3rd lockdrop and I can do it again but there needs to be a unique product to market! I’m not scared of growth and I know how to handle it when it comes.
I have also gained a lot of crypto friends over the years and I know some very elite developers that are always looking for work.

If anything; I hope that Astar can handle the growth that I expect to bring.
Prepare your servers everyone

The multi-platform bot ecosystem (Telegram/Discord/Decentraland/Twitter) is ambitious. Which platform is seeing the most traction currently? And when you say ā€˜perform Astar transactions from any application’ — are you envisioning this as embedded wallets, or more like transaction intents that users approve?

Hi @ERC20s

Thanks again for sharing the information about your project. After reviewing it, I have a couple of points I’d like to clarify to better understand your current structure and progress.

1. Team structure
Your website’s ā€œAbout Usā€ section mentions that D8A is a 4-person team. However, your recent application suggests that the project is now primarily led by a single developer. Could you please clarify the current team composition? If the structure has changed since 2023, it would be helpful to understand what led to this evolution.

2. Seed funding and development progress
Your site also indicates that D8A raised $2M in seed funding in 2023 to build a multi-chain transactions dApp. Two years later, could you outline what has been delivered so far and what features are currently live? This will help us get a clearer picture of the project’s present status and trajectory.

Thanks in advance for your clarifications — it will help everyone better understand your project’s development and vision.

  1. Telegram has been the most successful with 50,000+ user visibility and 3000+ direct interactions. I could do more if I was working with someone..
  2. Decentraland could be good but people mainly log on there for events like community calls but I currently don’t have time to organise them.. I have done 1 before with an astar community call but nobody really understood what was going on because they were all astar noobs..
  3. Discord bot is still new and only has account linking at the moment but I can see it’s potential especially with apps.. Something like a portal.astar clone that could be discord friendly would work but you need D8A for the transactions atm.
  4. Twitter bot is not live yet because the costs are $200 a month but I designed the architecture. And I think it could have ā€œviralā€ potential..

You can perform Astar transactions with the links.. You can create the links in the application.. So it just takes an external D8A pop up to confirm any transaction.. Currently there is no alternative..

All of the pages in the footer were generated with AI…
I was planning to upgrade these in ā€œMonth 2 - Complete documentationā€..
My apologies for any misunderstanding.

For the record…
1 person.. $0 funding

Thank you very much for providing various additional information.

I believe that with the advancement of AI, we are now in an environment where many things can be executed independently. Leveraging this naturally raises expectations for wonderful new use cases to emerge.

However, when users actually invest their own funds to play applications or entertainment, I think it is necessary to ensure a certain level of trustworthiness. As @Mouthmouth68 pointed out, I recommend first reconciling the differences between the content of the ā€œproposalā€ and the actual development status or deliverables (such as websites).

I am not saying this applies to you personally, but users tend to be very sensitive about the risk of fraud. Therefore, please take this as precautionary advice intended to address such concerns.

Another big risk is how AI is taking over socially..

For example a UCG application:
It’s easy to make a convincing proposal with little work..
But it still takes quality engineers that really know how these things work..

Another problem is in DAOs, where AI is being used to criticise quality ideas with the hosts bias. Everything written in this proposal was written with a keyboard. Ideas like these should be communicated and discussed authentically so that the applicant can improve the product effectively.
:man_cook:

I like the effort and the idea. One man army can be pretty efficient with these days tools. Keep up the good work!

Hi @ERC20s ,
thank you for sharing more about your work — I really appreciate the passion and long-term dedication you’ve put into building around Astar.

If I may share a personal perspective as a community member following this thread: even though some of the features you showed are interesting, I still find it a bit difficult to clearly understand which parts of the project are fully completed, which ones are prototypes, and how everything fits into a structured roadmap with concrete, verifiable deliverables.

At the moment there are many ideas and several potential directions, which is great, but it becomes hard to identify the core product as it exists today and what the tangible impact could be in the short and medium term.

Some of the questions raised earlier — especially regarding team structure, long-term sustainability, past development progress and how this aligns with what was previously funded — are quite important for helping everyone form a clearer picture.
In this sense, having more concrete and verifiable data, with a clearer breakdown of what has been built so far and what is planned next, would really help the community evaluate the proposal more easily.

Of course, I may be wrong, but at this stage I personally feel I would need more clarity and more structured information to fully understand the vision and the practical deliverables expected under a UCG

I can understand the confusion around the quantity of products..

I’ve been building multiple products for ASTAR for over 5 years now..
It would be good if we could unarchive the old decentraland stuff: https://forum.astar.network/t/decentraland-events/2004/15

2020:
I participated in the 1st lockdrop..
I started the Plasm unofficial telegram chat.
And promoted the 2nd lockdrop to friends..

2021:
I developed and hosted a month long event in decentraland promoting lockdrop 3.

2022:
I built a card game in decentraland.

2023:
I started to work on D8A and integrate Astar transactions into decentraland.

2024:
The telegram started to get flooded with spam (This is why the real astar chat decided to go into read-only mode). So I built a spam detection bot that could help filter through the mess.

2025:
Continued to work on D8A.
Started to test Discord/twitter bots..

I’ve generated millions of views towards the Astar ecosystem. Yay!
I’ve managed to keep up with all the network changes over the years
I’ve been on the Astar front lines everyday helping anyone that needs it since the start.

I figured that if anyone deserves UCG support. I should be on the list!

So what works?
Metaverse build :+1:
Twitter bot :+1:
Discord bot :+1:
D8A account linking across all these platforms :+1:
Most of the D8A website is functional :+1:

What partially works/doesn’t work..:
CCIP
Flow section
Secret section
Footer
Twitter bot

(I could just hide these sections but I’m working in prod to save on server costs )

Hey @ERC20s

Thanks — that clears it up.

Seems the AI was rooting for you and gave your project a little boost

I’m really pleased to see OG like you still building in the Astar space. I’ll thus back your UCG application, even if your dApp isn’t new.

My only tip: rethink your dApp staking rewards breakdown — 10% for pizza over four months isn’t exactly a balanced diet. Astar wouldn’t want to bankroll a pizza-themed ā€œSuper Size Meā€ and jeopardize your health. Diversify is THE key word for any healthy crypto wallet and diet

Good luck and keep building!

I understand your development style, motivation, and achievements. One concern I would like to address is sustainability. I would appreciate it if you could also mention your ideas and roadmap for continuing development, or for maintaining and operating the mechanisms of the dApp and its surrounding environment.

You asked the question of sustainability already

ā€œnew productā€ being the secret project. That’s the idea/roadmap/continued development/mechanism/environment at the moment. :+1:

So what is the scope and milestones being presented for the UCG request?

edit: nevermind - i see them now.

Cool project and i hope you have the opportunity to build
