Let's try again: Age Of Chronos proposal

However, the concerns raised during the rejection of the initial proposal, particularly regarding the lack of clarity around your go-to-market strategy and business development, have not yet been addressed. These points will still be relevant and considered during any new evaluation by the Council if you choose to proceed through this path.

In addition to achieving their milestones , @SFY_Labs and myself have been discussing different approaches for on-boarding my project community ((ApeXChimpz) into their game - maybe as ā€œbuddyā€ characters or through incentivised airdrops for completing certain levels or achievements. There are actually many different approaches we can take here but we are in active discussions.

I have also connected @SFY_Labs and @ilan (from NFT Bridges) just yesterday in regards bridging both my project and Age of Chronos to Soneium - and NFT Bridges have expressed a high appetite for this collaboration. They have also confirmed they can support bridging 3D NFTs. Stephen (RMRK lead dev) is key to developing the functionality for NFT Bridges to support the RMRK standard and he is also the dev for AOC.

@SFY_Labs have a long term vision here - get established on multiple EVM chains - and then potentially look to build a cross chain NFT marketplace (I say potentially because i don’t want to speak for them, or on their behalf). It is VERY early in the process to be concerned about BD and go-to-market strategy when we are only on milestone 1 - but foundations are being laid as much as possible.

SFy also have connections made on Moonbeam - as previously stated by other holders the requested amount is actually still cheap for the scope of the project. We are getting smart contract development in milestone 3 - that is easily 40k USD by itself most of the time.

Imagine this game on Soneium - a gaming Web2.0 company. The potential is limitless and the risk reward does not get any better.

The functionality to collab with any community or project on Astar is also there - but AOC need to be given the support and opportunity to develop first.

They have achieved their goals as agreed and on time - there has been no negative words about their work. We have done well to get this far, now let’s carry on with the good momentum and let @SFY_Labs do what they do best and work.

The point about this project working with NFT Bridges and developing smart contracts is an exciting one.

Astar council has done a great job onboarding both of these projects for UCG - this is how the ecosystem grows - by projects working together on developing solutions.

No other team on Astar or Soneium have the unique expertise @SFY_Labs has right now - they are experienced builders building an innovative product that can go multichain in many directions.

Let them cook on Astar and also see what they can cook up with @ilan and the team in parallel (Along with community based projects on Astar to leverage their communities to play the game).

@Gaius_sama please tell us if it’s ok, and what we need to do for the next steps. thank you

Hi @SFY_Labs! Let me help you with this.

  • If your intention was to request the grant from the main treasury under the criteria of the Astar Main Council, then yes, you did it correctly. Now it’s just a matter of time before the proposal moves to a vote and they provide feedback or approval.

  • You could have also submitted it as a public referendum, that would have required creating a preimage.

But again, if your intention was to send it to the Main Council, then you did it right. :+1:

Thanks for your reply, we actually wanted to make it public… well, we’ll wait for the council to express its opinion on the merits, hopefully soon, and we hope that the work presented can change someone’s mind.

Hello @SFY_Labs

Even though I’m not the best person to assess/judge your work (creating video games and 3D images is absolutely not my domain), I appreciate your submission and I’m glad to see that you’re making progress on your project.
If you would share your GitHub with me, I could assess the quality of your code and provide more constructive feedback.

Regarding your funding proposal for the first milestone, it will be difficult for me to vote for the reason mentioned above.
I will therefore abstain from voting and let more qualified people judge the quality of your work.

However, for future milestones, if the deliverables include a POC or an alpha version of the game on Astar EVM or Soneium, you will have my support.

Please note, even if for some reason your proposal is not approved by the council or the community, I recommend that you continue working on your project, deliver a POC or alpha version, and then request funding for all delivered milestones. This will make it easier for everyone to judge the quality of your work and approve your funding.

However, I have a question. I believe you will deliver your project on Astar EVM. Perhaps it would be better to deliver it on Soneium? Currently, more attention is being paid to Soneium than Astar EVM.

Hi, the GitHub code is available here for smart contracts and other blockchain-related stuff.
Regarding the Unity game, there’s no publicly available code. We use ThirdWeb services to connect to the blockchain.
Soneium is a possibility. We’d like to have the opportunity to develop on Astar first, perhaps as a first test of the path we intend to take. Certainly, in the future, not necessarily a migration, but a specific dungeon for Soneium will be possible.

Regarding the current grant request, we hope that the work submitted and the current state of development will persuade council members to vote positively, unlike the first time. It’s important to have a complete and functional game as soon as possible, and to be able to launch an adequate marketing campaign for the new season. We’re also in discussions with NFT Bridges about this, as mentioned above.
When the vote takes place, do we need to do anything else on our part? @Gaius_sama

Hello, @SFY_Labs team! Please let me guide you through the next steps you need to follow to move forward with your development.

First of all, the Main Council will not initiate the internal vote on your proposal because there were no changes made to your original submission based on the feedback provided by them. Therefore, evaluation through this route is no longer possible. That’s why you need to proceed through the heart of governance: public referendums.

Submit your proposal as a public referendum

  1. You’ve already created your onchain proposal with the requested amount and destination, so you’ve successfully completed the first step → Link to your proposal.

  2. Now, you need to create the preimage that will be used for your public proposal. Go to the Advanced/Preimages section on Subsquare and use the treasury/approveProposal call, linking it to your proposal ID, in your case, it’s ID 10.

  3. Finally, go to Democracy/Public Proposals and create your proposal using the preimage you just created, so it can eventually be upgraded to a referendum (this depends on the number of proposals already in queue).

That’s it! The process is easy to follow and will allow the entire community to get involved in your proposal, review your deliverable, and decide the outcome of the vote.

In fact, you’ve already gone through this process once before → Referendum #23. it’s just a matter of following the same steps I’ve now outlined for you again.

Let me know if I can assist you with anything else!

It’s ok @Juminstock ?

Thank you, when votation will start?

@SFY_Labs
Let me explain the system a bit.

Every 7 days, the proposal with the most seconds (we can think of it as support or votes) is moved to referendum. This period is called the Launch Period, and you can see it at the top of this section → https://astar.subsquare.io/democracy/proposals.

At the moment, there are two proposals and yours has the most seconds, so we could say that your proposal might be the next one. Again, it will all depend on which proposal has the most seconds.

Good morning, we’ve noticed that we’re currently unable to get votes in the upcoming period (some people voted heavily for the other active proposal). We’re asking anyone interested in our project for help in proceeding with the public referendum. It would be really important for us to know what the community thinks about our proposal as soon as possible. We’re probably the only ones who’ve submitted a proposal and have already completed the work since this system began. Thank you in advance for your support.
@AstarHood @pitcoin777 @Marroz @VasaKing @Dino @EMANUCT96 @FFR23 @GuiGou and all the others

Hi @SFY_Labs

For a public proposal to be upgraded to a referendum, it must receive the highest endorsement in the public proposal queue by being ā€œSecondedā€ by token holders.

See: Astar Subsquare - Onchain Governance | Welcome to Astar

In your case, there are currently one public proposal with 6 second votes and yours with 10 second votes, which means you’ll need to keep more endorsements for your proposal so that it will be upgraded for certain as the next referendum.

I encourage you and your community/network to help endorse your proposal to increase its chances of being upgraded to a referendum during the next cycle starting tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply. We made a very simple request yesterday with a support message. Unfortunately, some attitudes never change. I’m sorry, @Gaius_sama . We’re truly here with the best of intentions. You asked for seriousness, not controversy. After a month of not speaking, we came here to present all the promised work (work done by six different people). The council refused to evaluate this, and that’s fine, we accept the decision. You know what I’m talking about. Astar loses value because of this type of action. There’s no objectivity, no technical discussion that can lead to a serious discussion. If toxic behavior is perpetrated by those who should be here to monitor it, how do we all want to move forward?

It’s up to the token holders to endorse your proposal - or not. Right now you have 10k ASTR as endorsements, while the other top proposal has 12k ASTR.

You need 3k ASTR to move to the first place. If tomorrow around ~9AM CET you’re first, your proposal will become a referendum.

Thanks for your response, Dino, and also for your support in the vote, truly appreciated. I’m not complaining because we came in second; try to understand my outburst. You told us to behave in a very specific way, we followed it, we worked hard, and presented a folder with enormous documentation that perhaps no one has read (apart @GuiGou ) We haven’t said anything for a month, just worked. My Unity developer just asked me how the voting is going. What should I say, we’re currently being mocked by a council member? The votes are public; judge for yourself. If the Astar community has emptied out, it’s because of this kind of attitude, and a developer who wants to be positive and proactive won’t change anything unless these things change. If it happens because of trivialities like this, I don’t dare think about everything else. The principles and egos of a few currently trump the good of the community. We’ve been demanding nothing but respect for three years now; we’ve burned our proposal on Astar in the past, and a community of 200 voters. Before we have a complete and active dapp on Astar, we don’t intend to ask them for support or rush to vote as in the past. Currently, there are no proposals on this network except ours and a few others. If the difference between a Yes or No vote is the inappropriate behavior of a few, so be it. You gave us guidelines, we respected them, and we really can’t do anything else.

Hello @SFY_Labs. Please don’t create a hostile environment again filled with insinuations, hidden jabs, and criticism. Currently, your proposal has the most seconds, and multiple team members are backing it, which demonstrates the interest in starting the vote.

No member of any team has attacked you in this conversation. Clear rules and steps have been provided to you, which you have followed so far, and your proposal will soon go to vote. Everything is fine. Let’s keep moving forward with positive energy and mutual collaboration. :handshake:

Hi Juminstock, did we reach a fair agreement? We’re doing our part; we haven’t written a single message for a month, working and committing to our proposal. We’ve seen some unpleasant behavior and reported it, which is annoying because it came from someone who should be focused solely on development here. We thank those who helped us vote and hope these small negatives can be put aside. They no longer make sense at this time. We remain available for any clarification, and we hope that sooner or later we can discuss the milestones we’re delivering and nothing else.

Regarding this, I don’t know if we’ve shared it before, since @GuiGou asked: GitHub - SfyLabs-HASC/Age-of-Chronos-Rebellion-s-Echo

This is the project on GitHub. The Unity part is obviously missing, but you’ll find everything we’ve built and improved on the blockchain smart contract side.

Sorry, I’ve made a mistake - I assumed that since external proposal was fast-tracked, public proposals would have precedence this week but I was wrong. The rotation is irrespective of fast tracking.

Next Thursday, assuming Age of Chronos public proposal remains the top endorsed proposal, it will be upgraded to a referendum.
