The snapshot service is intended for collator nodes, namely, it helps to bring the node back online in a very short time, because pruning 1000 is set.

Background

Hi everyone,

STAKECRAFT supported Astar since it was called Plasm Network and at the beginning of 2022 was chosen as one of the first collators for Astar. We are confident in the future of Astar and Shiden, and have been working to deliver the best uptime and additional services for them.

Proposal

We want to request $1980 for Q1 & Q2 2023 (330$/month) in ASTR from the Astar treasury as a reward for providing our Snapshot service. We ask this amount for covering expenses on the server and its support.

Statistics of usage

For the period from January 1 to January 19, snapshots were used:

  • 22 times for Astar;
  • 14 times for Shiden.

Responsibilities

We are committed to keeping the service up and running and updating it regularly.

I am in favor of this one, snapshots are still needed.
About next one: we will soon recommend to run collators as archive nodes, because parachain full nodes have proved to be subject to sibling errors.
Please consider updating snapshot to archive when we communicate about this.

Funds will be transferred within 7 days, based on the average closing price of the last 14 days on Coingecko.
