Proposal to apply for Invulnerable Collator node on Astar Network and deregister Invulnerable Collator node on Shiden Network

To the Astar & Shiden community and collators,

I am writing this proposal to formally request to remove the invulnerable position on Shiden Network and, at the same time, to apply for the invulnerable collator on the Astar Network.

As an individual contributor, I have been actively maintaining a collator node on Shiden Network since 2022 and operated a collator on the Shibuya Network for four years, from 2020 to 2024. These years of hands-on operation across networks have given me the confidence, experience, and infrastructure knowledge to consistently deliver high-performance and reliable collator operation, which I now wish to apply to the Astar Network.

Background & Operation experience

  • Shiden Network collator (2022 - present)
    • Address: b1gtBwnLUzcxMfXBPAd8j5m9Xxj9W77cBUcnHcijw1CqiUM
  • Shibuya Network collator (2020 - 2024)
    • Address: W8yMxfPzQ7e2rct4MbzWA7abCDsB8YiqHk2qeFGEqhtMJCC
  • Other parachain collator nodes
    • Calamari Network from testnet to mainnet until network sunset
    • Mangata Finance from testnet to mainnet until network sunset
    • Khala Network, Amplitude
  • Other blockchain infrastructure
    • Operating nodes and validators on various non-Substrate networks
    • Experience with monitoring, high-availability setups, and secure key handling

Request to remove the invulnerable collator on Shiden Network
To fully commit my operational focus and infrastructure to the Astar Network, I respectfully request the removal of my current invulnerable collator role on Shiden Network. This is not a withdrawal from the Astar/Shiden ecosystem, but rather a strategic transition of support from the Kusama parachain to the Astar Network, where I hope to contribute to the network infrastructure.

Astar Network Collator Preparation Plan
If accepted, I will immediately prepare a dedicated server with a 1-month pre-launch operational window, including:

  • Full node synchronization
  • Integration of observability tools for real-time monitoring
  • Test scenarios for upgrades and version rollouts

This plan would ensure that I can deliver seamless and reliable block production from day one.

As a long-time operator and advocate of the ecosystem, I believe this proposed transition will give me another opportunity to contribute to the Astar Network. Please let me know for further clarification if necessary, then I would be happy to discuss this proposal in more detail.

Best regards,
pithecus

I am in favor of this proposal, Pithecus has been a long term agent and reliable collator on Shiden, I had the chance to follow him up since his Shiden collator onboarding. He definitely deserves a whitelist spot of Astar collator to me.

Hello, @pithecus! I’m glad to see you’ve received positive feedback from the community and that your proposal to join the Astar Network Invulnerable Collator set has been well received. I’m here to give you the step-by-step guide you need to follow to submit your onchain application:

  1. The first thing you need to do is make sure you meet the requirements outlined in our official documentation. Please check them here if you haven’t already → Collator requirements.

  2. Once you’ve confirmed that you meet the requirements, head to Astar Subsquare and create a preimage under this path: collatorSelection/registerAsCandidate(). This will allow your application to be evaluated onchain and for your node to be included in the list then.

  3. Finally, create the onchain proposal by going to the Democracy section and submitting it under a public proposal.

That’s it! With this, the community will make the final decision regarding your inclusion in the set.

Thank you for your commitment to Astar Network! :astr:
