Delisting of Avault in dApp Staking

:stop_sign: Proposal for Delisting Avault from dApp Staking

Summary

This proposal is created to delist Avault from the dApp Staking system on Astar Network due to its lack of ongoing contribution to the ecosystem and its failure to promote or bring value to the ASTR token.

Listing on the Astar portal: https://portal.astar.network/astar/dapp-staking/dapp?dapp=0x03065e84748a9e4a1aebef15ac89da1cdf18b202

Background

Avault was initially approved for dApp Staking based on their proposal outlined in the Astar Forum back in July 2022: Avault - dApp Staking Application

Avault self-describes as a liquid staking yield aggregator that provides aLP/aToken to DeFi users with automated compounding yields and more flexibility in using their assets.

Key Metrics

Key observations:

  • There is close to no activity at all on Astar: https://dappradar.com/dapp/avault?range-ds=30d&range-ha=30d
  • Absence of ecosystem development: No evidence suggests active development or expansion that promotes the ASTR token:
    • ASTR is still listed as part of various pools on the Avault dApp site, and in total value it amounts to approximately 12.6k in value. When looking into the smart contracts of each of these pools, I’m unsure if the value present in the UI is actually correct. There are also pairs that have assets that I cannot find any information on (i.e ORU, MUUU):

  • Jan 20th of this year was Avault’s last social post. No meaningful mention of Astar or ASTR in their social media platforms since then and indicating that marketing is halted: Avault X

Rationale

Avault no longer meets the criteria for dApp Staking due to the following reasons:

  1. Minimal Ecosystem Contribution: The project has not actively driven value to the Astar ecosystem or enhanced the utility of the ASTR token.
  2. Stagnant Development: No new features, updates, or significant milestones have been introduced to benefit the community of ASTR holders.
  3. Inactive Engagement: Avault has failed to maintain active engagement or partnerships that positively impact the Astar ecosystem.

To maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the dApp Staking system, it is essential to ensure that only projects with meaningful contributions and active participation are supported.

Community Engagement

I value the input of the Astar community and invite all members to share their thoughts and feedback on this proposal.

  • Forum Topic: Please discuss by replying here.
  • Voting Timeline: A vote on this proposal will be initiated in 5 days after discussions in the Astar Townhall:
    Astar Governance Portal

Next Steps

  1. Community Discussion (5 Days): Share feedback and additional insights.
  2. Voting Period: Participate in the formal vote to decide on the delisting.
  3. Execution: If the proposal passes, Avault will be removed from the dApp Staking system.

Together, let’s ensure that Astar remains a hub for impactful and value-driven projects. Thank you for your participation and support!

Thank you for the proposal. Regarding Avault, if I remember correctly, it was one of the earliest dApps. I’m not sure if the team currently has any additional plans or roadmap? If anyone has any updates, please feel free to provide feedback. As for the next steps regarding delisting, we can discuss this from various perspectives. =)

Thanks for this proposal @AstarHood.
Based on the metrics you shared (no activity on Astar and absence of development), I am also in favor of delisting Avault from dApp Staking.

Avault was one of the first dApp to be approved in the dApp staking. I recall we were doxxing the team and the call with their team. Also they had great idea of product when we are seeking to start the DeFi ecosystem on Astar… btw they deliver was poor and the lack os users using their dApp was something to consider.

I support 100% this proposal.

Next step, create a proposal to the delis on Astar forum.

I don’t see any problem with delisting.

Thank you for bringing this proposal forward, @AstarHood. After reviewing the metrics, such as the inactivity on Astar and the absence of meaningful development, I also agree with delisting Avault from dApp Staking.

Avault initially showed potential when it was one of the first dApps approved for the program. I recall discussions with their team and the excitement around their ideas to contribute to Astar’s DeFi ecosystem. Unfortunately, their execution has not lived up to expectations, and the lack of user engagement on their platform makes this decision both necessary and justified.
