Proposal: Astar DeFi Book in English

One thing to have in mind is that Astar network will change so the book might be outdated. Especially with Astar Evolution that Sota will disclose soon. This is just to things to consider.
Max.

Thank you very much for your support. For me, all comments are welcome. Ultimately, my intention is for us to work as a community. One day, it may be a project from an individual, an ambassador, or an agent. If itā€™s good for the community, itā€™s worth supporting.

ā€œGreat point, Max! The fast pace of blockchain development, especially with Astar, does pose a challenge. Iā€™m planning to offer updates and addendums to the book as the network evolves so that readers can stay informed on the latest changes. However, itā€™s also important to remember that some technologies stand the test of time. For example, Bitcoin, created in 2009, and Metamask, launched in 2016, remain highly relevant today. I believe Astar will continue to be a significant player for many years to come.ā€

Hello @MacZam

Before making a decision on your proposal, Iā€™d like you to clarify a few points.

I remember that you created this book over two years ago and Iā€™m concerned that itā€™s potentially out of date.

For example, dApp Staking was upgraded to V3 earlier this year. Has the book been updated as a result?

Things are changing rapidly in the blockchain space and by the time you are able to publish the book in English, it may be even more obsolete.

I donā€™t think the Treasury should be funding obsolete content.

Would it be possible to share the content for review by ecosystem agents or the core team?

Great Idea. Thought about the same. Maybe to bring it to the newest state it would be great have some people read through it and give their opinion.

Thank you very much. The content of the answer is complete and clear.

May I ask a little more? As we know, the crypto world moves very fast in a day. Each piece of content that we think is the latest update, in case things have already been updated, what plans does the team have for this? Also, how up-to-date is the information in the book now?

Thank you for your questions and for taking the time to review the proposal. I completely understand your concern about the potential obsolescence of the content, especially in such a rapidly evolving space like blockchain.

I want to clarify that the translation of the book into English will include updates to the chapters to reflect recent changes, such as the upgrade to dApp Staking V3. We are committed to keeping the content relevant and valuable to the community.

Additionally, I fully agree with sharing the updated content with ecosystem agents or the core team for review. This will ensure that the book meets current standards and remains a valuable resource for everyone.

Thank you again for your support, and I look forward to collaborating to make this book a useful resource for the community.

Great idea! I completely agree with you. To ensure the book is brought up to the newest state, it would be great to have some people read through it and give their opinion. I really appreciate the suggestion and am more than willing to involve the community in this process.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful question. Youā€™re absolutely right; the crypto world evolves at a rapid pace. However, itā€™s important to note that some technologies have stood the test of time. For instance, Bitcoin was created in 2009 and remains more relevant than ever, even after 15 years. Similarly, MetaMask was launched in 2016, and itā€™s still widely used today. I believe Astar has the potential to stay relevant for years to come as well.

With this project, we are planning a new update to the book. The revised version will incorporate the latest developments and ensure that the content remains current and valuable for readers. Our goal is to keep the information as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

Thank you very much. Letā€™s try to find ways to help each other. If you need any assistance in any area, please let me know. =)

We are pleased that you want to make sure your content is new and relevant. Updating your book with the most recent developments would definitely be a plus to its readers. I know that Astar will always remain important in crypto evolution along with Bitcoin and MetaMask. Bravo for doing such a wonderful job!

Thank you very much.
Maybe it is possible to share this book in your country or in the community of your geographical area.
Also to translate into another language.
If you think it is possible, we could start conversations.

Iā€™m very pleased. Anyway, Iā€™ll find an opportunity to consult with you again. Thank you very much. =)

First of all, congratulations for your work!
My only concern is how quickly things are changing in the blockchain. Everything is under construction and evolving and what may be true at the time of writing the book may not be true when it is released. I am wondering if physical books are the best support for such work. I think a numeric support would be more suitable.

Thank you for your congratulations! I completely agree with you. Thatā€™s why the number of printed books will be minimal, as it serves as a good marketing activity. The majority of the books will be created as NFTs, which is cheaper and allows for constant updates to keep up with changes in the blockchain world.

Hi @MacZam glad to see this great contribution and potential further engagement in general! I am curious if Soneium L2 could be covered this time.

Hi! Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm. Absolutely, it will always be possible to update the information as the ecosystem evolves. However, we need some time to observe which dApps will migrate to Soneium L2, whether they are the ones mentioned in the text or others that may come from different ecosystems. At the moment, I see that the dApps we have are deployed on Astar Network and should migrate at some point. Initially, the products should be very similar or even the same.

Though it will take time to discover which dApps being deployed on Soneium L2, I would like to stress the point that covering the Soneium L2 part would make the book remain up-to-date to the latest development of Astar Network ecosystem. If it is time competitive, then perhaps covering the dApps those who already announced their transition/migration to Soneium L2.

Given the above comments, itā€™s certainly obvious how things are going faster than we think it is in the web3 space. Printing physical books might not be suitable only for specific topics, but maybe general idea on building/staking dapps on Astar. Idea is that something that will still be useful in the long term where the book could be pass on.

I still want to know more thoughts from the community. This is a personal thought after more people are commenting here.

Yeah, I think in a space as fast as blockchain the book should be digitial and checked and adjusted after every big change in the protocol. If you need someone to read it give it to the ambassadors I think
