Sponsorship Proposal: Astar Network @ Cripto Latin Fest 2026

Hello Astar community,

My name is Roberto Heredia.

I currently work on connecting Web3 communities, projects, and companies across Latin America, creating collaboration opportunities that drive blockchain adoption throughout the region.

I would like to propose Astar’s participation as a sponsor of the 9th edition of Cripto Latin Fest, which will take place on August 27–28 in Bogotá, Colombia. Cripto Latin Fest is the largest crypto event in the region, and I believe this represents a great opportunity for Astar to strengthen its presence across the Latin American market.

Throughout my career, I have spent several years contributing to the growth of the blockchain ecosystem in Latin America by leading educational initiatives, building communities, organizing events, and establishing partnerships with blockchain projects.

In addition, I had the opportunity to serve as a Polkadot Ambassador, promoting education, community growth, and awareness of the technologies developed within the Polkadot ecosystem.

My proposal is the following:

  1. Summary
This proposal outlines a strategic partnership between Astar Network and the Cripto Latin Fest (CLF) 2026, the leading Web3 festival in Latin America. Building on the success of previous collaborations, this 9th edition in Bogotá aims to drive significant user-level adoption for the Astar ecosystem through targeted educational and interactive initiatives.
  2. Event Context
The Cripto Latin Fest will take place in Bogotá, Colombia, from August 26th to 28th, 2026. With over 4,000 expected attendees, the event serves as the primary meeting point for Web3 enthusiasts, developers, and fintech leaders in the region.
  3. Strategic Pillars for User Adoption
This sponsorship is specifically designed to facilitate the transition of general attendees into active Astar Network users:
    • Educational Track (Workshops): Two 1.5-hour sessions (3 hours total) focusing on “Web3 for Everyone” and “On-chain Experiences,” guiding users from wallet setup to dApp interaction.
    • Academic Leadership: Guaranteed participation for an Astar representative in a main stage panel.
    • Massive Visibility: Satoshi-level branding (Web, print, signage, and social media amplification).
  4. Investment and Deliverables
    • Sponsorship Fee: 1,700 USD (Covers full festival package and workshop rights)
    • Workshop Track: Two 1.5-hour sessions in the official festival workshop zone.
    • Branding Level: Satoshi Sponsor (Prime logo placement and social media presence)
    • Panel Slot: Guaranteed speaking slot on the Main Stage.
  5. Success Metrics (KPIs)
We are committed to delivering measurable results:
    • User Acquisition: Tracking the number of new wallets created/interacted with during the festival.
    • Engagement: Total workshop attendance and completion rates for onboarding tasks.
    • Community Growth: Expansion of the Astar “Colectivo” Spanish-speaking community.
We look forward to collaborating with the Astar community to make this event a milestone for regional adoption.

Thank you for the proposal.

However, at this point I am somewhat hesitant about sponsoring events. The reason is that, given Astar’s current situation, there are very few compelling points that we can realistically promote.

There is still potential. If developments such as AstarFi—or other upcoming initiatives—materialize, then sponsoring events and investing a reasonable amount in promotion could certainly make sense. However, at the moment the outlook remains uncertain, so I’m not convinced that event sponsorship would provide a good return on investment.

Ultimately, I think this will depend largely on how things align with the Astar Foundation’s broader strategy.

Thank you for the proposal.

I’m truly impressed by the spirit and initiative behind the event planning.
However, as @you425 mentioned, I don’t think now is the right timing for sponsorship that would justify the investment.

The event is scheduled for the end of August, but I believe it would be more effective to promote it after Astar’s concrete strategy and upcoming releases are made public.
With clearer messaging and direction, the promotional impact would be significantly stronger.

Hi @RobertoSteam , thank you for taking the time to prepare and submit this proposal.

I also appreciate the effort behind initiatives that aim to expand Astar’s presence in Latin America, and I recognize the value that community events can bring when the timing and ecosystem conditions are aligned.

That said, at this stage I share the concerns already raised by @you425 and @tksarah .

From my perspective, the main question is not whether this event has value, but whether it represents the best allocation of Community Treasury resources under the current circumstances.

With the ecosystem currently going through a period of transition, limited protocol activity, and a strong focus on treasury sustainability, I believe we should prioritize initiatives where the expected impact and return on treasury spending can be measured more clearly.

I also think that event sponsorships become significantly more effective when there are major ecosystem developments, product launches, or strategic announcements that attendees can immediately engage with. In those situations, community events can serve as a strong amplifier for adoption and ecosystem growth.

For those reasons, while I appreciate the proposal and the work behind it, I don’t believe this is the right time to allocate Community Treasury funds to this initiative. I genuinely appreciate your contribution and hope we can revisit similar opportunities under more favorable conditions in the future. :handshake: :astr:
