Representing Astar Network & Soneium at Peru Blockchain Conference 2025

Hi dear Astar Community! :waving_hand:

I’m Jorge Sáez, a professional with over five years of relevant experience in the sector, specializing in the development and execution of growth, operational, organizational, and marketing strategies. This has allowed me to successfully build Web3 communities, strategic alliances, and integrations in Peru and Latin America.

I’m excited to greet you and present this proposal with the aim of strengthening the current efforts of Astar Network and Soneium in the Latin American region, and specifically, promoting both projects in the Peruvian ecosystem, through the representation of both projects at one of the most important events of the ecosystem in the country, such as the Peru Blockchain Conference 2025.

1. Abstract:

The main objective is to present Astar Network and Soneium as two of the leading projects in the sector at the 4th edition of the Peru Blockchain Conference 2025. The goal is to introduce both projects to the Peruvian ecosystem, one of the most dynamic in terms of developer talent, investment, and entrepreneurship in Latin America. Astar and Soneium offer real opportunities and solutions for more builders, companies, and communities to join and build, thus expanding and strengthening their ecosystems.

2. About the Event:

This is the 4th edition of the Peru Blockchain Conference, one of the main events of the ecosystem in Peru, where a large number of people, both national and international, including builders, entrepreneurs, investors, government officials, and other ecosystem enthusiasts, gather to learn about new trends and opportunities in the industry.

3. Main Objectives:

  • Introduce Astar Network and Soneium to the Peruvian ecosystem at one of the country’s largest events, with over 1,000 attendees.
  • Present Astar Network and Soneium, their main features, and updates.
  • Leverage current efforts in the region by positioning Astar Network and Soneium as leading projects in the Blockchain ecosystem among Spanish-speaking audiences by creating local accounts, specifically on Telegram, WhatsApp, X (Twitter), and Instagram.
  • Attract new builders, investors, and enthusiasts to strengthen the Astar and Soneium ecosystem.
  • Strengthen the presence of Astar Network and Soneium in Peru and Latin America, providing opportunities for future activities, developments, strategic alliances, and integrations.

Hi @CJorgeSaez!

It’s great to see more members of our community joining the mission to expand Astar and Soneium at events like this, where a strong turnout can be achieved.

However, I noticed that you recently joined our forum, I am not familiar with any previous contributions you may have made to our ecosystem, and I have not seen you in our groups or other community spaces.

This raises some concerns for me, especially since you are requesting more than 8K USD for an event in a country where we currently do not have an established community.

Could you please provide us with more references about yourself?
What have been your previous contributions to Astar & Soneium?
What are your motivations for submitting this proposal?

You mentioned that this is your area of expertise, how can we validate that?

Which communities are you actively contributing to? Could you share some relevant links related to these communities?

All these questions are important because you are submitting a funding request, and, as you can imagine, at Astar we care not only about safeguarding our resources but also about ensuring that their use generates real impact.

I look forward to your response.

Hi @Juminstock thank you so much for the welcome and feedback, I really appreciate it :raising_hands:

Sure, happy to answer any questions!

I met Astar through Soneium when Startale Group’s strategic alliance with Sony was announced. Since then, I have joined both projects on all their official channels, including X, Telegram, and Discord, channels I’m a member of. While I haven’t been very active on Discord, which is the community where you can interact, since there isn’t one currently, and there is a community on Telegram, I have closely followed the updates and developments.

Sure!

  1. I’m a professional with over five years of relevant experience in the sector, specializing in the development and execution of growth, operational, organizational, and marketing strategies. This has allowed me to successfully build Web3 communities, strategic alliances, and integrations in Peru and Latin America. During my career, I have worked as:

  2. AirDAO Peru Country Manager and LATAM Operations: Responsible for establishing this L1 project’s presence in Peru, leading adoption initiatives, strategic partnerships, and community development.

  3. Ambassador, LATAM Lead, and Operations Lead at Pixel Realm (formerly Nftb): I designed and executed growth, operational, and marketing strategies to drive the growth of one of the leading NFT Marketplaces within the BSC ecosystem, as well as maintain and develop new partnerships with projects and key opinion leaders (KOLs), achieving more than 50 pre-sale launches and NFT collections.

Currently, this would be my first active contribution to Astar Network and Soneium to enhance the efforts you have been making in Latin America. My goal is to promote both projects in the Peruvian ecosystem, which is quite large and has a broad community of builders and projects in the sector.

I seek to introduce Astar Network and Soneium to the Peruvian ecosystem through active participation as Sponsor, highlighting their most recent updates, the potential of these blockchain platforms, and positioning them as two of the leading projects in the ecosystem in Peru and the Latin American region.

This will allow for the creation of a strong and engaged local community of more than 100 members where they can learn about and engage with both projects, including their latest updates, upcoming activities, contests, and other relevant information.

Below are some examples of both in-person and virtual events I have organized and led in collaboration with some of the ecosystem’s leading exchanges as part of implementing marketing strategies to drive community growth and engagement, which have achieved high attendance and participation rates:

  1. Gate.io - Spanish AMA
  2. Gate.io - Portuguese AMA
  3. Binance - Spanish AMA
  4. Kucoin - Spanish AMA
  5. Attendance at Key Ecosystem Events
  6. Community networking event
  7. Educational community event

You can also see my LinkedIn profile at the following link: Jorge Sáez - LinkedIn Profile.

Currently, the main community I’m most active in is the AirDAO Community, as I’m the project’s Country Manager.

This is the link to our Telegram community in Spanish:

And this is the link to our local WhatsApp community in Peru:

This is precisely one of the main reasons why I would like to carry out this project. By actively participating in the Peru Blockchain Conference 2025, one of the most important events within the ecosystem, we will not only strengthen the Astar Network and Soneium brands in the country and the region by connecting directly with startups, blockchain projects, builders, entrepreneurs, government officials, and ecosystem enthusiasts. This will open the door to future developments, strategic alliances, and integrations, but will also allow for the creation of a strong and committed local community.

Both communities I just sent you are led by me, and the local community in Peru was created by me. I have a broad network of contacts here and a very good relationship with the members of the ecosystem.

I created this community with smaller events like:

AirDAO Web3 Night, which had over 200 attendees
Blockchain Hacking the Future, an event held in partnership with one of the country’s leading universities, was attended by over 100 people

So, without a doubt, I’m sure that by actively attending as a sponsor at the Peru Blockchain Conference, we’ll have a local community of over 100 people.

Thank you again for the feedback. I really appreciate it and I love all the work you’re doing in the region!

Best regards,
Jorge Sáez.

Welcome to the ecosystem — it’s great to have you here. You certainly bring an impressive background, and I appreciate your interest in contributing to Astar and Soneium.

That said, before supporting a request of over $8,000 from the treasury, I would personally like to see a more established track record of organic contributions within the ecosystem. In my view, a deep understanding of Astar and Soneium is essential to ensure alignment with the values and long-term goals of the community.

While I’m not implying this is your case, attracting intellectual capital solely for marketing purposes is a strategy better suited to be driven by Startale Labs or the Astar Foundation through their structured marketing programs.

From my perspective as both a community member and a council contributor, the community treasury should remain focused on initiatives created by the community and for the community.

I look forward to seeing your continued involvement, and perhaps @Juminstock—who has significant experience with LATAM events—could support you in navigating this journey within the Astar ecosystem.

Hi @pitcoin777 Thank you so much for your warm welcome, words and feedback, I really appreciate it! :raising_hands:

I fully agree that we must be aligned with the long-term goals and values of Astar Network and Soneium, which is why I’m proposing this initiative. Not just as an isolated marketing activity, nor as a one-time proposal, but as a strategic starting point that will allow us to establish a lasting presence and a solid and committed community base in Peru, which has one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing Web3 ecosystems in the region, capable of attracting builders and achieving significant strategic alliances with the ecosystem in the long term, and is where I am based.

I understand your concern about the allocation of funds, especially when these are initial proposals. This is completely understandable, and I respect the need for organic contributions. The amount of this proposal can be slightly reduced by opting for the lowest Sponsorship Tier, Bronze, which offers fewer benefits, including a smaller booth. However, as shown in the deck attached to the proposal, the Silver Tier seems like the perfect cost-benefit balance option. It offers a booth with a space appropriate for branding Astar Network and Soneium as two sister projects. It also offers the opportunity for 1-2 additional virtual speaking slots. This would be perfect for having a Core Member, Council Member, Agent, or any other team member participate who can provide the background for both projects at the conference, which would be the main participation. My participation would be in person on a joint panel with other members of the ecosystem.

This event will take place in a month and a half, so it’s possible to hold a smaller event before then, such as a networking event or participate in an ecosystem event like a meetup or similar. Some events are already planned for this May, so this would be an option that would require a smaller budget and would pave the way for participation in the Conference, which would be a much larger event.

For my part, my intention is to actively participate long-term and would be delighted to collaborate with @Juminstock since we both have extensive experience in the crypto ecosystem in the region, thus leveraging our efforts and ensuring a greater impact.

Thank you so much again for your valuable comments! :handshake:

Hello @CJorgeSaez, sorry for the delay in my answer.

I’d like to highlight and support what @pitcoin777 mentioned.

Community-driven proposals like this have always been well received by the Astar Network community. Now, with the Astar Collective, we want to congratulate the active members who consistently look for opportunities to promote the protocol itself, its technology and its benefits for users. In line with this, the path that’s often taken is to contribute first without asking for anything in return. Not because it’s a rule, but because it allows you to show the entire community your potential, in this case, for example, as an executor and believer in the Astar Collective.

It’s very important that before requesting funds from our treasury, you build a reputation within our ecosystem. Everything revolves around that reputation, that’s how the crypto and blockchain space works.

That’s why, @CJorgeSaez, I invite you to get more involved in our community: participate in forum discussions, engage, contribute, and support other members on our Discord server. This is how people will start to recognize you.

Personally, I’m a promoter of community events and a firm believer in their potential. I’m glad to see you’re interested in contributing to the expansion of Astar and Soneium in Latam. Get more involved in our community and become part of our ambassador team, it’s a great way to make your contributions stand out.

Saludos @Juminstock thank you for your feedbak!

Sure, no problem.

Yeah, that’s the idea. Currently, the proposal has been updated, and the only funds requested are those incurred in the execution of the event if the team and collective decide to participate in what is one of the main events in the country.

As you mentioned, the idea here is to strengthen the Astar ecosystem. Peru offers one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing ecosystems in the region. I have several years of experience in this area in the region and in the country, and I am happy to actively contribute to boosting the ecosystem. For my part, there is no problem organizing and developing initiatives in support of Astar without receiving any reward in return. I believe that commitment and transparency are essential to help build a solid and sustainable ecosystem over time.

Thank you for your valuable comments :+1:
