AS - Spaces and Streams program in Spanish about Astar Network and Soneium

Hi Dear @pitcoin777 and Astar Community!

UPDATE

We want to share a brief update regarding the proposal currently active in the Treasury, related to the retroactive request for funds for merch kits for the AS - The Master Card in Web3 program.

After carefully evaluating the situation, and considering that the retroactive scheme would initially require covering the costs from our own funds (something we couldn’t afford at the start of the program), we have decided not to request these retroactive funds. Although we managed to move forward and keep the program active throughout this period, and will continue until we complete the remaining sessions in December, we prefer not to commit resources that we didn’t have available at the beginning.

We had even prepared a special NFT as an equivalent to the merch kit, but we believe it would be better to reserve it as a benefit for the second season, when we can plan and execute everything more effectively.

If the Astar Community Council deems it appropriate to keep the proposal active for possible application in the second season, that would be great, and we can adapt it to the new approach.

However, if you feel it’s best to decline for now, we have no problem with that.

We want to make it clear that we will continue hosting Spaces and Streams without requesting additional funding, fulfilling our commitment to the Spanish-speaking community during the final sessions of this season.

Once this first season is over, as promised, we will publish a detailed report with results, lessons learned, and recommendations to further strengthen this community initiative.

Thank you so much for all your support, we’ll share the final results soon! :raising_hands:

Thank you for the honesty and commitment to the ecosystem, guys. I’m aligned with what you’re proposing.

Because the proposal was submitted a long time ago and the amounts are completely disconnected from the current price movement, I will speak with the ACC to decline this proposal. Feel free to submit another request in the future.

Thanks for the clarification, it’s helpful to understand the reasoning behind stepping back from the retroactive request. Being transparent about the original constraints and how they affect the current proposal makes the path forward much clearer.

Keeping the option open to repurpose this idea for a properly planned Season 2 seems reasonable, especially if the NFT or merch element can be integrated from the start. Looking forward to the end-of-season report; the insights from this first run will be important for deciding how to structure future support.

Hi @Matt Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it! :raising_hands:

Yeah, the plan was great, but it was all based on having the merch kits, which were a fundamental element of this local community program. However, since the proposal was retroactive and we couldn’t provide these kits ourselves, we had to improvise and run the program without them. For this reason, we decided to decline the funding request, as we couldn’t deliver the merch kits directly associated with the proposal.

Even so, we’ve successfully run the program, our community is now a bit bigger, and I think we’ll be able to create a better structure for the second season.

Sure, you can count on it! We only have a couple of weeks left to finish the program, and then we’ll update this post with the results. :astr:

First Season Report: AS - Spaces and Streams program in Spanish about Astar Network and Soneium

Hello Dear Astar Community, as promised, here we share the report of this program! :raising_hands:

:joker: Summary

AS – The Master Card on Web3 was a pilot program for Spaces and Streams in Spanish that we designed to strengthen, educate, and activate the Spanish-speaking community within the Astar Network and Soneium ecosystems.

During the season, this program established itself as a consistent space for conversation, learning, and community experimentation. It featured an educational format, guests from the ecosystem, live gaming, and participation mechanisms such as POAPs in each episode.

This report summarizes the KPIs achieved, key learnings, challenges identified, and opportunities for future seasons.

:bullseye: Initial Objectives

  • Create an educational space in Spanish about Astar Network, Soneium, Startale, and Web3, allowing the Spanish-speaking community to learn more about the protocols, test their platforms/products, and stay up-to-date.
  • Increase participation and retention within the Spanish-speaking community.
  • Experiment with gamification formats (POAPs, NFTs).
  • Connect local and regional communities, ecosystem projects, students, and builders.

:books: Key Learnings
:white_check_mark: What worked well

  • Content in Spanish with a local and regional focus.
  • Dynamic spaces with real educational value.
  • Integration of gaming as an engagement tool.
  • POAPs as emotional incentive and certificate of participation.
  • Collaboration with university and web3 communities of the ecosystem.
  • Streaming Format: We initially started with Spaces, and while it’s understandable that our first episodes had low viewership, we noticed that when we switched to a streaming format, we experienced:
    • A much larger audience.
    • More dynamic episodes.
    • Greater ease in sharing information about the ecosystem and explaining how platforms like the Soneium Portal works.
    • A closer connection with our guests.

:warning: Challenges Identified

  • Budget limitations for physical rewards.
  • Need for greater advance planning for joint episodes with ecosystem communities.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Adjustments and Strategic Decisions

  • It was decided not to process retroactive requests for merchandise funding.
  • The program continued without additional funding.
  • The merchandise NFTs will be reserved for a future season.
  • Consistency and compliance were prioritized over financial incentives.

:rocket: Qualitative Impact

  • Positioning AS – The Master Card on Web3 as a consistent and leading resource for the Spanish-speaking community.
  • Closer ties with the community.
  • Building relationships with university communities and Web3.
  • Validation of the format for future seasons.

:brain: Recommendations for Season 2

  • Keep POAPs and NFTs as the core of the show.
  • Expand the number of international guests from the various Web3 communities within the ecosystem.
  • Given that the Conversation + Gaming format was the most successful, it would be fantastic to have core members from the various platforms/games in the ecosystem test them live with the community. Arcas Champions was the game we tested in the Gaming episodes, and those episodes had the highest viewership and were a huge hit with the guests. It’s truly a great game in every way. The idea is to replicate this with other games and/or platforms in the ecosystem in future seasons.

:chequered_flag: Conclusión

Initially, @Audiarmis and I created AS - The Master Card in Web3 as more than just a Spaces and Streams program for the Spanish-speaking community. The idea was to create a community program specifically for the Spanish-speaking community. This was directly related to the rewards system we had initially planned, but considering that we opted for the retroactive option and due to budget limitations that prevented us from delivering these merch kits on our own, we had to request funding and reformulate the program.

We thank @Community_Council for considering this request.

With that said, AS - The Master Card in Web3 fulfilled its main objective: to create community, generate educational value, and experiment with sustainable formats for the Spanish-speaking community.

The program leaves a solid foundation of learning, content, and relationships that allow us to scale to a more structured and efficient second season.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported this initiative! :folded_hands:

Let’s keep building! :astr: :flexed_biceps:
