[Community Council Application – Jorge Sáez]

Hi dear Astar Community!

I am pleased to present my candidacy for the vacant Community Representative seat on the Astar Community Council.

  • Full Name & Timezone
Jorge Sáez / UTC -5 Lima, Perú.

  • Relevant Qualifications & Experience
I am a professional with over five years of relevant experience in the sector, specializing in the development and execution of growth, operational, organizational, and marketing strategies. This has allowed me to successfully build Web3 communities, strategic alliances, and integrations in Peru and Latin America. During my career, I have worked as:

    • Ascendia Network (formerly AirDAO) Peru Country Manager and LATAM Operations: Responsible for establishing the presence of this L1 project in both Peru and Latin America, leading adoption initiatives, business development, strategic partnerships, and community growth.
    • Ambassador, LATAM Lead and later Operations Lead at Pixel Realm (formerly Nftb): I designed and executed growth, operational and marketing strategies to drive the growth of one of the main NFT Marketplaces within the BSC ecosystem, as well as maintain and develop strategic alliances with leading projects in the ecosystem, as well as with key opinion leaders (KOLs), thus achieving more than 50 successful pre-sale launches and NFT collections.
  • Track Record of Contributions
Over the past few months, I have been deeply involved in expanding Astar Network and Soneium’s presence in both Peru and Latin America, leading community initiatives, organizing high-impact in-person events, and creating educational content tailored to Spanish-speaking audiences. These contributions aim to bridge the gap between Astar Network and Soneium’s global strategies and local adoption efforts. These contributions include:

    • Astar and Soneium at Bitcoin Pizza Day in Lima, Peru 2025: At this successful event, I had the pleasure of presenting Astar Network and Soneium as the Official Sponsor to the main Web3 project and community leaders in the local ecosystem. You can see all the details here.
    • Bitcoin Pizza Day Lima - Post-Even Space: In this regional coverage Space, I had the opportunity to present Astar Network and connect with some of the key communities in the regional ecosystem, thus expanding the reach and impact of Astar Network’s participation as an Official Sponsor of this event. You can see all the details of the Space here.
    • ITEMZ Game Session: This was a Stream organized and carried out with one of the main Gaming communities in Latin America, such as ITEMZ LATAM, where we had the opportunity to Present Astar Network and Soneium, as well as Test two of the Games of the ecosystem such as Legends of Venari and Arcas Champions. You can see all the details of the Stream here.
    • AS - The Master Card in Web3: This is a joint proposal that aims to launch a pilot program for Spanish-language Spaces and Streams on X (Twitter). This program seeks to strengthen the Spanish-speaking communities of Astar Network and Soneium, educate about the ecosystems, and generate valuable connections with communities, developers, content creators, and ecosystem enthusiasts throughout Latin America. You can see all the details here; it is also currently in the on-chain treasury.
    • Local Channels: The contributions described above have allowed me to create local channels with the intention of translating and creating content in the local language to keep the community informed and up-to-date on the latest news and events in the Astar Network and Soneium ecosystems. The local channels I am currently managing are: X (Twitter), Instagram, WhatsApp Community, Medium.
    • Joint events with some of Peru’s leading Universities: I’m currently organizing several events in conjunction with some of Peru’s leading Universities. I will present this proposal at the forum next week with all the details and its relevance to the ecosystem.
  • Motivation & Vision for Astar
My motivation for joining the Astar Community Council is deeply connected to my commitment and desire to actively contribute to Astar Network and help shape the ecosystem through fair, transparent decision-making, aligned with the vision of both the Council and the community. Without a doubt, it would be a great pleasure and honor for me to be able to play this role.

  • Plans for the Term
During my term, my main objective will be to actively participate and contribute to the core responsibilities of the Astar Community Council, such as:

    • Managing the Community Treasury
    • Reviewing UCG grant proposals
    • Evaluating and listing dApps for dApp Staking
    • Overseeing Ecosystem Agent Tips
    • Participating in governance votes and onchain operations

Likewise, I commit to proactively participating in proposing and developing new processes, tools, and ideas that contribute to improving the board’s efficiency, fostering transparency, and strengthening collaborative decision-making within the Astar Network ecosystem.

  • Weekly Availability
I’m fully willing to work 15+ hours/week to achieve the proposed objectives, attend meetings, participate in community discussions, and contribute to shaping a transparent and decentralized future for Astar.

  • Onchain Identity Verification

  • Disclosures of Project Affiliations or Conflicts
I am currently Peru Country Manager and LATAM Operations for Ascendia Network (formerly AirDAO), but this does not represent any conflict.

Finally, I would like to emphasize that while I have been following the Astar Network and Soneium ecosystems for some time, I have been actively participating and contributing continuously since approximately April of this year.

Likewise, I am currently an “Ambassador Candidate” for Astar.

With this application, I wish to demonstrate my enthusiasm and commitment to continue actively contributing to the Astar Network ecosystem. However, if for any reason you consider any of the above inconvenient or something similar and decide to select a more qualified candidate for the position, I will be happy to support the final decision and will continue contributing to the ecosystem as I have done so far, always in favor of decisions that help advance Astar Network. :handshake:

Thank you for applying to ACC!

Currently, there are two candidates, Jumnstock and you, but considering the positions of the two and the scope of ACC, I believe you are the more suitable candidate.

Hello @CJorgeSaez

Thank you for your application.
I understand your stated contributions. I’d like to ask a bit more. Do you have any social media accounts, blog, or other platforms where we can see your passion and ongoing contributions to Astar and Soneium?

The reason I’m asking is that many community members might only be aware of your recent activities. Most likely, the community wants to understand not just your words, but your actions as well.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @tksarah thank you very much for your feedback and your question! :raising_hands:

Sure! I understand your point and am happy to share with you and the community the links to the social media platforms I currently manage and where I have shared content related to Astar Network and Soneium, and to delve a little deeper into my contributions to the ecosystems.

I became active in the Astar and Soneium ecosystems around April. In fact, specifically on April 27th of this year, I presented myself here on the forum with the following proposal: Representing Astar Network & Soneium at Peru Blockchain Conference 2025 - Astar / Astar Initiatives - Astar Forum

The idea was to showcase both ecosystems at the country’s premier blockchain event. In fact, this year’s edition was the largest to date, with over 2,500 attendees and featured projects such as Binance, MEXC, Bitget, Bybit, and other key players in the ecosystem. You can see a brief summary here.

However, considering that it was my first proposal without any previous track record within the Astar and Soneium ecosystems, it is completely normal and understandable that there was a bit of skepticism about it, and in response to the feedback received, I later decided to propose a slightly smaller event such as: Astar and Soneium at Bitcoin Pizza Day in Lima, Peru 2025 - Astar / Astar Initiatives - Astar Forum

This event was smaller compared to the conference, but it was undoubtedly an important event commemorating a global milestone in the crypto world and bringing together the ecosystem’s leading Web3 communities and projects. I had the great pleasure of presenting Astar Network and Soneium. Based on the feedback I received, I decided to hold this event with my own funds, with a later retroactive application based on the results. The event was a resounding success, and the results can be seen here.

Additionally, at this event, I had the opportunity to create a local community with 60+ members on WhatsApp, where I brought together attendees interested in the project.

Currently, the Astar and Soneium channels I manage, which are aimed at the Spanish-speaking public, are:

I originally launched these under a previous handle (AstarNetwork_LA), and had started creating content, in fact I started adding it to the Space Club K.Os monitoring sheet specifically since May 3rd, but due to platform X policies, that account was sadly suspended. I have since relaunched them with a unified and compatible brand across all platforms. This time, ensuring that these accounts comply with the platform’s rules, thus avoiding potential further bans.

Since WhatsApp doesn’t display posted content like Telegram, I’ve made a short screen recording showing the content shared in the community. You can watch it here.

Thanks again for your feedback and for giving me the opportunity to address this point. I firmly believe that transparency and consistency are key to building trust and impact in the community :handshake:

I didn’t know you were managing the Astar Spain Instagram page (I’m managing the Astar Italy page), you’re doing a great job! Keep it up, and good luck with your ACC application.
