Hello Astar Community!
First, I want to apologize for the delay before starting the vote. We needed to integrate a new offchain voting system for this election. Now that we have OpenSquare integrated with Astar (supporting both Native & EVM), we can proceed with the election.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparent, community-driven governance, we are launching the voting process to fill the remaining open seat on the Astar Community Council (ACC). This election is essential to maintain the Council’s balanced 2-2-2 structure—ensuring representation from the Core Team, Ecosystem Agents, and Community Representatives—and to keep our governance strong, inclusive, and effective.
Why This Election Matters
The Astar Community Council is a governance body of six members, each playing a vital role in:
- Managing the Community Treasury
- Overseeing UCG grant proposals
- Evaluating and listing dApps for dApp Staking
- Reviewing Ecosystem Agent Tips
- Participating in governance votes and onchain operations
Council members dedicate ~10–12 hours per week to these responsibilities, ensuring that the interests of the entire ecosystem are represented and that decisions are made transparently and efficiently. The Council’s 2-2-2 structure (2 Core Team, 2 Ecosystem Agents, 2 Community Representatives) is designed to bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the table, strengthening our collective decision-making.
With the recent departure of @AstarHood, we now have an open Community Representative seat. Holding this election allows us to maintain the Council’s balance and momentum, and to bring in new energy and ideas from the community.
