I am very much in favor of @Juminstock running for ACC, but regarding the vacant seat this time, will there be no restrictions on the number of seats per segment as there were in the first round?

If this limitation applies only to the initial setup and is not required for replacements like this time, then I believe there is no issue.

Hi @you425

Thanks for bringing this up, it’s a valid question. The original setup was designed to maintain a fair balance between the different groups of Astar members.

Right now, the priority is to fill the seat left by Astarhood’s departure, so we haven’t set any specific requirements regarding the affiliation of applicants. The goal is simply to ensure the seat doesn’t remain vacant.

If multiple members apply for this position, we can revisit the discussion to maintain the balance as originally planned. At the moment, only one person has applied, so we’ll see if this becomes relevant or not.

I hope this approach works for the community. If not, I encourage the community to share their thoughts on the matter.

I see, I understand.
Personally, I think it’s fine for @Juminstock to participate if there are no other candidates.

Thank you @AstarHood for your great work and contributions to the Astar ecosystem. Wishing you the best moving forward.

I also hope more candidates apply — it would be good to see more than the two we have so far.

I support your point that having more applicants would be very beneficial. I recall seeing @Satoshi’s application during the first selection round; I’d like to review it again.

Community Council Election Results – Welcome Simon Brt! :tada:

The Community Council election has concluded, and we’re excited to announce the results of the vote to fill the vacant seat left by AstarHood’s departure.

Final Results:

With decent community participation totaling 7.36M ASTR in votes from 27 voters, Simon Brt has been elected as our newest Community Representative.

Congratulations to Simon Brt! :trophy: We’re thrilled to welcome you to the Astar Community Council. Your experience and commitment to the ecosystem will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve together.

We also want to thank Jorge Sáez for stepping forward and applying to the position.

Simon will officially join the Council and begin his responsibilities of managing the Community Treasury, reviewing UCG grant proposals, evaluating dApps for dApp Staking, and participating in governance decisions that shape Astar’s future.

Next Steps: The Astar Main Council will shortly create a motion to update the Community Council members, removing @AstarHood & @Gaius_sama from the community council and replacing them with @SimonB & @Juminstock. This will formalize the transition and ensure our governance structure reflects the current composition.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this democratic process. Your engagement helps ensure our governance remains transparent, accountable, and truly representative of our diverse community.

Welcome aboard, Simon!
