Community Council Transition

During Q2 2026, the Community Council underwent an important leadership transition following the resignation of Simon, who stepped down from his role after contributing to the Council’s activities and the broader Astar ecosystem.

The ACC sincerely thanks Simon for his dedication, professionalism, and valuable contributions throughout his tenure. His work supported multiple community initiatives and governance discussions that helped strengthen the ecosystem.

To ensure uninterrupted Council operations and maintain community representation, the ACC promptly initiated the established governance process to fill the vacant seat.

The election was conducted through a transparent governance process consisting of:

  • Open candidate applications.

  • Community discussion on the forum.

  • Off-chain community voting.

  • Final on-chain approval.

During Q2 2026, the ACC continued strengthening financial oversight of the Community Treasury by prioritizing sustainability, accountability, and efficient resource allocation.

Guild Funding Concluded

Following an internal strategic review, the ACC decided to conclude its partnership with Guild after completing the final approved funding cycle.

Guild has been an important infrastructure partner for the Astar ecosystem since its integration, supporting:

  • Onchain identity verification.

:seedling: Strategic Staking Program (SSP)

One of the ACC’s most significant achievements this quarter was the successful transition from the Unstoppable Community Grants (UCG) model to the new ACC Strategic Staking Program (SSP).

This initiative represents a strategic evolution in how Community Treasury assets are managed. Instead of leaving treasury funds idle, the SSP introduces a sustainable approach that allows treasury assets to be staked while maintaining liquidity for governance operations. The objective is to improve treasury efficiency by generating yield that can be reinvested into future community initiatives and ecosystem growth.

SSP establishes a structured framework for deploying Community Treasury ASTR into dApp staking activities.

The following five projects were selected for staking support with the goal of pushing them toward Tier 2. Each project either sits on Line A or is in close proximity to it, which in itself reflects a baseline of sustained community validation. More importantly, these are builders who have continued operating through a difficult market, a signal of genuine commitment to the Astar ecosystem.

Project Allocation Primary Rationale
Dwellir 30M ASTR Core node infrastructure, stable Foundation relationship
Aradia 31M ASTR Only active NFT marketplace, consistent development & comms
Lucky 24M ASTR Wasm presence, active builder, community support
Onchain Bridges 7M ASTR Cross-chain infrastructure, Soneium connectivity
Sake Finance 7M ASTR Pioneer DeFi on Soneium, active ASTR utility

Total Staked: 122M ASTR

The implementation of the Strategic Staking Program marks an important step toward more sustainable treasury management. Rather than simply allocating treasury resources through grants, the ACC has begun adopting mechanisms that seek to preserve capital efficiency while supporting the long-term growth of the Astar ecosystem.

Activities Performed

  • Designed and introduced the ACC Strategic Staking Program (SSP).

  • Published the governance proposal outlining the program’s objectives and operational framework.

  • Coordinated community discussion and gathered feedback prior to implementation.

  • Successfully executed the first on-chain staking transaction through the Community Council.

  • Established the foundation for long-term treasury sustainability through active treasury management.

Key milestones and references

:rocket: Astar Ambassador Fellowship

During the quarter, the ACC continued improving the operational structure of the Astar Ambassador Fellowship (AAF), focusing on creating a more efficient, transparent, and scalable program aligned with the ecosystem’s new strategic direction.

Following the transition to the new fixed ASTR reward model, the Council worked on modernizing the program’s internal operations by replacing legacy tools, improving contributor evaluation, and establishing a more structured workflow for future growth.

These improvements were designed not only to streamline day-to-day management, but also to provide greater transparency, consistency, and accountability across the Ambassador Fellowship.

:clipboard: Ambassador Management Platform Modernization

During the quarter, the ACC initiated the transition from Guild to a Notion-based management system, with the objective of building a more flexible, transparent, and scalable operational workspace for the Ambassador Fellowship.

Rather than relying on multiple disconnected tools, the new workspace is being designed to centralize the program’s operational management while improving documentation, collaboration, and contributor tracking.

Once fully implemented, the platform will serve as the central hub for:

  • Ambassador management.

  • Documentation and knowledge base.

  • Task and activity tracking.

  • Performance evaluations.

  • Internal workflows.

  • Operational resources.

The migration remains an ongoing initiative, with the ACC actively developing and refining the workspace to ensure a smooth transition while minimizing disruption to the Ambassador Fellowship’s operations.

:bar_chart: New Ambassador Evaluation Framework

To support the new reward model, the ACC designed and implemented an updated evaluation system that better reflects the current objectives of the Ambassador Fellowship.

The new framework introduces:

  • Standardized evaluation criteria.

  • Clearer contributor performance assessment.

  • Better alignment between contributions and rewards.

  • Increased transparency throughout the evaluation process.

The objective is to ensure that rewards are distributed based on measurable impact while maintaining consistency across all participants.

:gear: Operational Improvements

Alongside the platform migration, the ACC continued improving the internal operation of the Ambassador Fellowship through several structural enhancements, including:

  • Development of a new Ambassador evaluation framework aligned with the updated reward model.

  • Standardization of evaluation criteria and reporting procedures.

  • Improvement of internal documentation and operational workflows.

  • Ongoing refinement of management processes to support future scalability.

These initiatives are part of a broader effort to modernize the Ambassador Fellowship and establish a stronger operational foundation for future growth.

Next Steps

The ACC will continue expanding the Notion workspace throughout the coming quarter, completing the migration of operational resources, documentation, evaluation systems, and internal processes to establish a fully centralized management platform for the Ambassador Fellowship.

:telescope: Looking Ahead

As the ecosystem continues evolving, the Astar Community Council remains committed to strengthening governance, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring responsible stewardship of Community Treasury resources.

Key priorities for the coming quarter include:

  • Completing the migration of the Ambassador Fellowship management system to Notion and consolidating all operational workflows.

  • Continuing to refine the Ambassador evaluation framework and contributor management processes.

  • Monitoring and expanding the Strategic Staking Program (SSP) based on its initial performance and governance feedback.

  • Supporting community-driven initiatives that generate measurable value for the Astar ecosystem.

  • Continuing to improve governance processes by increasing procedural clarity, transparency, and documentation for future proposals and Council operations.

  • Maintaining a strategic and sustainable approach to Community Treasury management.

:folded_hands: Closing Remarks

Q2 2026 represented a period of transition, optimization, and continuous improvement for the Astar Community Council.

Throughout the quarter, the Council not only fulfilled its governance and treasury responsibilities but also introduced structural improvements aimed at strengthening the long-term sustainability of community programs and internal operations. From governance transitions and treasury optimization to the launch of strategic initiatives and the modernization of the Ambassador Fellowship, each decision was guided by transparency, accountability, and the collective interests of the Astar ecosystem.

We would like to sincerely thank every community member, ambassador, governance participant, and contributor who continues dedicating their time and expertise to the ecosystem. Community participation remains one of Astar’s greatest strengths, and the continued collaboration between contributors, governance bodies, and the wider community is essential for building a stronger and more resilient network.

The Astar Community Council remains committed to fostering open governance, responsible treasury management, and sustainable community growth as we continue supporting the evolution of the Astar ecosystem.
